Coral Sands Resort on Hilton Head Island lies to perspective buyers of its timeshares, promising that you are purchasing an annual timeshare for two weeks each year, and encouraging you to swap an existing timeshare, which they promise to sell for you, so that the cost of their offering is minimal or nothing. I was succored into going to one of their "no pressure" presentations while in Hilton Head during November 2013. I was offered the above deal and signed for a Coral Sands timeshare for $13,900 which the salesperson said would entitle me to two weeks annually in a 3 bedroom unit at any time during the year. They introduced me to a person who assured me that they could sell my existing Carolina Club time share for the $23,900 I paid for it within a few months.
On returning home after two days and reading the contract carefully, I found that I had purchased a Tri-annual, one week timeshare, restricted to only the last three months of the year. Of course, when I attempted to contact the Coral Sands salesperson at the telephone number given me the day I purchased the timeshare, I got no answer and no return phone call.
It appears from similar complaints that this kind of false, misleading sales practices are the common practice of this company.
