Hired Cordell and Cordell last September to handle my son's divorce case. Only reason we went with them was because they claim to be pro dad. Original partner that was hired immediately turned case over to an associate claiming she had a conflict of interest with the judge handling the case. Should have known right off the bat this was a mistake because the woman that was handling his case had no fight in her what so ever. Everything that the wife's two bit lawyer demanded, she gave in to. The judge ruled for temporary joint custody and it was decided that she should stay in his house and be in charge of the child from 6pm to 8am and then my son had custody from 8am to 6 pm. If you're getting a divorce, why would you be living in the same house? Well this went on and on (oh I forgot to mention she was arrested on 3 different occasions for domestic assault even before they were ordered to share the same living space). When I reached the $10,000.00 mark I thought, should I end this? Well, I called the attorney and she said we were getting close so I decided to just wait it out since I had so much money invested (that was probably at the 6 month mark). Well 1 year and $20,000.00+ later, no closer to a divorce so we let her go on Sept 1 of this year. So officially my last billing would have been Sept 4 since they bill on Monday for the previous week's work. Well guess what, I was billed not only on9/11 but up until 9/26! Now in what universe does being fired mean you can continue to work and bill your former client for work that was not authorized? I'm going to talk to an attorney and see what my options are. In the meantime, do not waste your money on this firm!?
