excessive horn blowing after midnight

Good Day
I reside in a 55+ community called the Villas at Spanish Oaks in the city of Ocala Florida. I moved in on Oct 1st of this year.
There is a train bridge being built over the tracks on NE 36th avenue where a crossing once was, so why would a train horn need blow at this location?
I notice that starting about 11pm until the wee hours of the morning about every 15 minutes or so when a train goes by, the conductor is on the horn as if there is a herd of cattle blocking his path.
I am startled nightly due to this.
Please heed our neighborhood request to be courteous to the residential seniors. We need our sleep.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Loud & Excessive Railroad Noise

I have lived in Steger, Illinois with my mother for 3 years now and the trains have been a nuisance to us from day one. Somehow we just were able to put up with it for 3 years, but no more. Something serious has to be done.

We live in a VERY residential area, with houses and businesses all around (NOT RURAL AT ALL), and our home is 3 houses down from the railroad itself. God bless our poor neighbors who are even closer.

The noise is disruptive and distrubing. It wake us up. It prevents us from sleeping properly. It's annoying. It's too loud. It's excessive. It's ear-splitting when outside. And It's ridiculous.

I put in an official complaint by phone earlier. I valled my village and left a voicemail, mentioning the implementing of train "quiet zones." Now, I'm submitting another complaint via this post.

The trains in this area constantly run through at all times of day, afternoon, and night. It's hard enough to deal with the backed up traffic blocking intersections because of train wait time. But these trains blow the their obnoxiously loud and debilitating horns what seems like 7, 8, or 9 times before they stop.

Imagine having an average of 25-30 trains (or more) going by your home each day at random times and having blaring their horns...with your school aged children trying to sleep, with you trying to survive on a few hours of sleep with a long commute to work in the morning, with a 17 hour day ahead of you, etc.

I propose that all grade crossings in residential areas should have MANDATED quiet zones for that area. Put signs up instead saying "Caution: horn will not blow at crossing." Put a neon light on the front of the train. Get Bozo the clown spray painted on the side. Whatever you have to do!

I never knew noise pollution could so significantly reduce one's quality of life, BUT IT DOES.

And all these poor elderly retired couples in this community. God bless them.

Submit this complaint to the upper echelons of your organization. Please, by all means.

Put up the caution signs that I mentioned earlier. It'll create jobs for people. Fix all these terribly broken up tracks that we have to run our tires over as well.

Do something for the love of God. So we all don't jump off a bridge.

Please and Thank You.
