I applied for maternity benefits at the department of labour in Cape Town(Goodwood) and my application was approved and got my 1st payment on April. I then moved to Butterworth (Home) since I'm on maternity leave, on the 22 May I went to he department to sign for my next payment and was told to wait 10 days, I then received an sms after 11 days while waiting saying "Awaiting application form and medical certificate" I didn't understand because I filled in the forms already. I went back to the department and was told maybe they were offline and the re-scanned the forms and was told to wait another 10 days.

While waiting I called a friend who is working for the department of labour from another province to check the delay. She told me that the status on my application is PENDING after a payout I got from work apparently they thought I'm back to work, so I had to produce a confirmation letter from work stating that I'm getting a certain percentage of my salary. I have the letter with me labour department has been offline for 3 weeks and they can't help me. Today I was suppose to sign for another payment but they couldn't help he because their system is down. So I won't get money again this month. Now I'm forced to go back to Western Cape or go to another city because we are suffering
