I was retrenched the 5th of May this year. As soon as I received my documents I went to the Department of Labour for UIF payment. When I went to them for the first payment they told me it was not approved I must come back the next month. I went back and again they told me no it is in process and not approved. I then started a new job the 1st of August. When I went back to them to tell them I started a new job and required when they will pay out the money due to me for not having an income from 5th May to 31 July, they told me sorry the case is closed and I will not get the money because I have a new job. This is not fair to me. I paid 5 years for UIF and I had to loan money to pay my debts and keep food on the table. I got a number for the appeals office and phoned them. They told me to register on the www.ufiling.com website. I did, I put in an appeal and somehow someone else can go and cancel the appeal as the user. I did not cancel it. I am not allowed to have my phone with me at work and everytime the appeal was canceled I was at work and not allowed on my phone. I took screenshots of this. I already put in at least 6 to 7 appeals and yet someone is cancelling it as the user. I dont know how this is possible. I suspect fraud. I think they took the money and now they dont want to give it to me. I am going to see a lawyer about this as well. Please look into this matter.
