Writing this as a warning for all potential digi subscribers. I came back from the united states, bought a digi sim card at Tesco Ipoh Garden. The shop was a small one located just outside at the front nearest to the first Tesco checkout counter.
Requested for an internet sim. The dishonest counter person gave me a full sim with calls+net when I specifically requested for internet sim only (later found costing only rm20), and charged me rm50.
Fine... He took my ic card (warning!!! To everyone). And for the record I've never used my ic card in Malaysia for close to 10+ years! So nobody should have my info.
A week later I was back in the states. There was a threatening phone call to my home phone. Apparently the 'fake police' had my full name and home address. Telling my parents I'm in jail now for drug offences. In the background can be heard a kid crying in mandarin (we don't use Chinese language fyi) calling out my parents. And uttered my full name claiming to be me! The policeman kept threatening my parents to pay up for 'release money'.
My parents ignored knowing I'm in united states safely. So people and to the police, please take note. And take note of this unsculpous digi retail agent. First one outside the tesco cashier entrance. I do hope they will get arrested very soon for such despicable act
