I signed up for DIRECTV at a Fry's Electronics Store. Everything I was told when I signed up was wrong. The free installation ended up costing me $120 ($60 of which I'm supposed to get refunded to me - haven't seen it yet). The installation crew were not professional or informative. They used my personal USB cable, which they took from my home computer, placed the dish on my roof without even talking to me first & then left their trash in my yard. There were rebates that I apparently needed to sign up to receive, but when I asked if there was anything I needed to do, was told they were instant rebates & no action was required on my part. WRONG!!! So my first bill, which was supposed to be 30 days from my install date was taken out a week later because they set me up for automatic bill pay, which comes out LONG before the bills actual due date. I cancelled automatic bill pay, so I could have some actual control over when the bill was paid & my statement went up $10/month, even though I was told auto pay through my bank was sufficient. I logged onto to see that a bill is due 4/7 that I have not been notified of. When I called & asked why I hadn't been notified of the bill, they weren't sure & when I asked about the due date being too soon, was told there's a 10 day grace period after the due date. What the heck? This company is terrible. They are crooks, liars & I'm being held hostage by a two year contract with these theives. Worst cable decision of my life!

Signed up for DirecTV at the San Diego County Fair under a 1 year promo contract, canceled service after 14 months. Now they are stating I had a 2 year contract and owe them early cancellation fees, even though I have in my possession a contract stating I was under a one year contract. They still will not acknowledge they are wrong and have sent my account into collection.

Never use DirecTV it will be a big mistake, stick with cable.

i HAD A ONE YEAR CONTRACT AS WELL AND WAS DISCONNECTED AFTER ONE YEAR CONTRACT WAS UP. THEY ARE TRYING TO CHARGE ME FOR AN EARLY CONCELLATION FEE AS WELL. PLUS, BECAUSE I MADE A PAYMENT ONLINE WITH MY DEBIT CARD IN THE PAST, THEY HAD IT ON FILE SO DECIDED TO TAKE MONEY OUT WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR PERMISSION OR EXPLANATION OF CHARGES. I CALLED AND THE REPRESENTATIVE SAID THAT THEY WILL NOT BE CREDITING IT BACK TO MY ACCOUNT DUE TO EARLY CANCELLATION FEE. SERIOUSLY??????? I AM REPORTING THIS AS FRAUD TO MY ACCOUNT AND WILL NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!! I AM SO PISSED OFF AND I AM GOIN TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE FTC AS WELL.

Your one year contract was extended when you failed to cancel after 12 months. READ ALL of your contract.

They are terrible, they quoted me wrong price and asked me to sign up. When I confronted them, they asked me if I wanted to cancel it, sue i did..I am glad I don't have to deal with bunch of incompetent worker..
