A "Ms. Martinez" called - very polite. Immediately began asking me questions about my checking account. I told her "I'm neither confirming nor denying ANY personal information because I don't know who you are or why you're calling".
She then referred to some "A & R Lenders" and some supposed pay-day loan in the amount of $1,300 that was borrowed on October 08 20012, and apparently never been repaid.

Since I've never even HAD a payday loan, that was clue number 1 that this is a scam. Actually clue number 1 was the immediate questions regarding my checking account and the bank thereof. The fact that, over the past 20 + months, this is like the fifth such phone call, having various levels of courtesy...or LACK thereof - all referring to a different lender, a different loan amount, and a different date, ranging from 2004 to 2012. Do the research people - there is an epidemic of this sort of scam taking place since sometime in 2011. These are not actual collection agencies who have purchased any debts. These are scam artists attempting to steal both your cash and your identity.

After this "Ms. Martinez" very politely finished having her say I very politely stated that "The moment you said you were calling on behalf of a debtor, I began recording this phone conversation and I will be sending the sound file, along with the caller I.D. information, to both the Federal Trade Commission AND my local FBI office" she became a whole lot LESS polite and a whole lot MORE threatening. I told her "Look, this wouldn't be my first rodeo - I was young once, a lot of years ago, and made a few financial decisions that weren't so bright. As a result, I know how the state of Connecticut addresses these situations - various regular letters, ultimately a registered & certified letter and finally a Sheriff serving my employer with garnishment papers. I also know a bit about collection - since I actually work FOR a legitimate collection agency - and I know it is illegal to ask questions about personal finance, it is illegal to make threats of ANY nature what-so-ever...whether they be a threat of legal action intended, or a threat...! I know that if a collector is told STOP CALLING that said collector MUST stop...unless said collector is the actual owner of the debt in question, which you clearly are not".

I am sure I had a shit load more of blabber to toss out there but the eloquent "Ms. Martinez" chose that moment to hang up on me. Whether that was because I was "baffling her with bullshit" or making it very clear that I know the laws and she is in direct violation of several (probably a combination of both) I donno and I don't care. She was a scam artist, or represented one, working with one, whatever... and she got freaking busted.

By the way - the conversation WAS recorded, and I DID send the pertinent information to the appropriate Federal legal agencies.
Do your homework people.

I have received two rude and threatening phone calls from Matt Russell at DM & Associates. Both times he said he was calling about someone I don't even know. When I asked him to stop calling here since there is no one here by the name he seeks, instead of apologizing for his mistake, he cussed and yelled at me. What a jerk!

Rude unprofessional man claiming to be DM Associates called my special needs son 's cell phone who has nothing to do with my debt that was already settled with a creditor. First he left a message claiming he had my sons name and social security number and was filing a felony charge on him in our county. When my son called him back he gave my name, his mothers, and when my son handed me the phone he lied and said first he was DM Associates and then claimed he was assistant to prosecutor and was proceeding to file charges within 72 hours. I called him on his lie and told him to have a lawyer call me and he said if I didn't talk to him he was filing the charge tonight. I told him to go ahead. These people are the worst bill collectors and should be fired for lack of success at their job. It must be stressful to be so angry for a living. I feel like making a citizens arrest for stupid inefficient tactics. I feel so sorry for this business I want to offer a consultant quality process that could improve their GPM without breaking the law or lying.

I already registered my complaint on this site but wanted to highlight the fact that this man threatened to have him and 5 of his drunk friends gang rape me. He says all of this after telling me he knows a lot of information about me. I should have made a police report!

I received a phone call from 855 288-5580. The voice mail stated that my social security number and telephone number had been acquired to file a claim/charges against me within 72 hours(the reason was very evasive). I returned the call out of concern and dealt with a very vulgar and inappropriate man named Matt Russell. He refused to give me much information regarding call. I did call back in an attempt to speak with a supervisor. He told he that he owned the company and that I was "asking for it". This man also threatened to call all of my family members and make my life a living hell! I told him that he sounded intoxicated and he replied by saying that he probably was and that him and 5 of his drunk buddies were going to come gang rape me and my little friends(who happen to be my 3 children that were home with me) He then threatened me further by saying he had a lot of information about me and that I better be REAL nice to him! He proceeded to ask me if I was wearing lipstick or a dress?? After reviewing the on-line articles,I see that this organization is a scam but I am very upset about the way in which I was spoken to. If anyone knows a way I can report this in a better way,please let me know!

you people are scum bags if you would pay your bills people wouldnt call. you guys dont understand that going to a bank and taking out a shit load of credit cards with no intentions on paying them back is why the usa is going under and is in a deficit. the answer to all of your complaints is simple pay your bills and live within your means and people wont call you

My sister recieved a call from investigator logan. I called him back it is possible i didn't pay this loan back i was young and stupid and took a bunch of loans out but thought we paid them back. this paticular loan is from 2008 with money and more. the investigator said they would be taking 2 legal actions against me a civil suit and defrauding a financial institute. I did use my dad's bank account which he then closed. said they normally don't take money they have to give me a curtusy clal and that i would be served either friday or monday in my county. said i would be interested in settling he took my offer to a lawyer he said that daughter went through the same thing and that i could either settle by payin 150 a month or if i could get 510.25 in 24hrs. i could settle it and receive a pif lettter (paid in full) letter. after reading more about the company i am at a loss on what to do. if this is in fact a loan i forgot about and did not pay i would like to settle the debt but not if this company is scamming me. not sure if i can contact the originator of the money and more loan to pay them.

I had a voicemail msg from investigator Logan, with DM & associates. He didn't sat the normal if this is not so n so please stop listening or anything to that affect. He said I would be served papers on March 20 or 22nd for a civil case already filed in my county. I was about to call him back but looked up the number first and found these complaints. Thanks for posting. Satisfied Payer is probably one of them, no way that's real.

Today I got a call from DM Associates from a gentleman name Jason Cobb...He said he was calling from the Court office in the city i live in. When I called back he said he was with DM Associates and he was going to sue me for not paying of a loan and he would take me to court. Is this for real?
