UNAUTHORISED CHARGE

A charge was recently debited to my credit card of £23.88 for software from DRI*AVAST I have never purchased software from this company. Nor have I ever given them my credit card details . So has someone stolen my credit card details or have I been billed in error ? I did try to speak with them on the phone and a chap mumbled something about a recurring charge. He promised to help but nothing so far. I HAVE NEVER BOUGHT SOFTWARE FROM THEM.
