In the last month I have now had two pairs of men's Ecco shoes where the sole of the shoe just disintegrated on me as I wore them. One was a dress style shoe and the other a casual walking shoe - both of roughly the same age (several years old) but not all that worn. The rubber in the sole just decomposed and then literally crumbles apart into small bits as you walk. It appears that Ecco has a real design/material flaw here considering the number of other complaints of a very similar nature. One would expect more considering they charge a pretty good premium for their products. We'll see what happens when I take them back to the store where I bought them...
