I have purchased 8 pair of Ecco shoes over the years - 7 of which have been in the past 10 years or less. Last year I was going to wear my black dress Ecco shoes to an event and found the soles were disintegrating when I opened the box I kept them stored in. This past June (2019) a pair of brown, suede casual Ecco shoes felt spongy in the heel area when I put them on - after removing and examining them I found the heels were cracked. Then in August I put on a pair of brown casual Ecco shoes and they too felt spngy when I walked in them - I removed these and found they too were cracked in the heel area. Finally, a week ago I went to put on a pair of black casual Ecco shoes I purchased in 2009 that I've worn regularly since purchasing and found they were separating where the sole is glued onto the leather upper. This is 4 pair of shoes that I've paid well over $500 that have disintegrated (or begun to) in less than 2 years! I own 3 more pair of Ecco shoes that I purchased with in the past 3 to 6 years that I expect will also disintegrate within the next 2 to 4 years.
