Well I have never came accross a place that does not want to allow you to pay your account.

So my mom wanted to pay her Edgars account today 4th July 2021. She unfortunately am not from cape town and did not plan to go to canal walk but once there she asked that she pay her account. So we went stood in a long line and she discovered she did not have her edgars card with her but she has a receipt of previous payment and also her driver and ID with her so like with all stores would look up her account nr from her id they refused to help her.

We cannot help you without your card. I wanted to know why and there explanation was they need her card or she could go to pick and pay or checkers and pay there. So I asked why must my mom of almost 80 who came to pay her edgars account leave the store to walk to another store and go and pay there. So I asked to speak to a manager.

At first the lady at the till said she dont know where the manager is and also that the manager would say the same. I asked to speak to a manager.

Manager Amanda Mkonto came after a very long wait. Manager said the same or there was another option to pay R60 for a temp card but they could not help her.

This was very upsetting and dissapointing. Very dissapointed to be an edgars account holder. How do you treat your customers like that. Why do you refuse a payment, how do you expect an customer to pay an additional R60 on top of the account and this for a pentioner, also how do you expect a almost 80year old lady with ankle problems to walk up and down canal walk to go and pay her ancount at another store?

Canal walk Edgars you dissapointed me today..please re-look at your procedures and teach you employees to be more helpful and not dismissive.
