My son's class was planning a tour of London, Paris, Rome, and Florence with EF Tours for May, 2018 for their senior trip. We were given a deadline of February 3, 2017 to enroll, so, I enrolled my son and myself. A few days after enrolling, the trip coordinator at the school informed me and another family that only three of us had registered for the trip and everyone else backed out----there is now no group trip. I called EF Tours and they said there is nothing they can do, and I will still lose the $500 initial payment I made. I asked why could I not receive a refund when there is no group tour that will happen. The representative, "Stephanie," said that EF Tours was not the one cancelling the tour. I said there is no tour happening because only myself, my son, and one other student enrolled and I could not force the others to enroll and had no way of knowing the others would back out. Stephanie repeated that I would not get a refund and EF Tours was not the one cancelling the tour. She suggested I call our school's trip coordinator--for what?

EF Tours (and the school's trip coordinator) should at least have a stipulation that a certain number of people in a group should be enrolled before it is considered as a "tour group" and before your deposit is forfeited. I do not have money to give away and do not want to travel with another group of people I do not know.
