I have received a collections letter from Convergent stating I owe Critical Purchasing Corp $401.38. I received a copy of my credit report 10/14 and neither company was on it. I had a hunch there might be something wrong. Whoever these people are, they need to go to jail. Convergent offers a settlement balance of $200 to be paid in 14 days.

Today as of 1/16/13, I received the same letter from Cri Purchasing Corp. Called to obtain additional information with the given number at 866-291-6364 and was told that I owe the balance from Washington Mutual Bank which was bought out by Chase. The lady over the phone was rude and not willing to give her name. She instructed that I should send them a dispute letter even though I have no information regarding the dept that I owe. I even check my credit history and this dept was no where to be find.
