Experian will not remove off my credit report.

Late in 2015 I was a victim of attempted identity theft. After submitting the police reports to Experian, my credit report was locked and a 7 year freeze was placed on my credit report. On May 18, 2018, I received from an e-mail from Experian indicating my credit report had been automatically unlocked by Experian. I called and "tried" to talk to a customer service representative. First, I am told I had down graded my membership (which I did not), then I was told I had requested my credit report be unlocked (again I did not request that) and then told my credit report was unlocked because of system maintenance (really! how many more "stories" could they make up for their unauthorized actions)) and that the lock could not be placed back on my file unless I wanted to upgrade my membership for a fee! Experian must think the consumers are stupid! This is pure and simply a scam by Experian to make money. With the rampant data breaches and criminal element trying every which way to defraud the consumer, costing business millions of dollars annually, you would think Experian would be doing everything it can to protect the consumer and not running scams to charge for what should be (and was until May 18) a free service.
