UCLA v Oklahoma, it is disturbing to me to see player's simulate the use of a hand as a knife making a cutting motion across the throat, it has NO place in the American Sport's culture, so much in an a GAME ANNOUNCER'S vocabulary! 08/08/2018 in the first quarter of this game I heard one of the announcer's, who had a story relayed to him, (maybe by a Coach) that he related to us viewer's with 'enthusiastic pride,' to millions of people, (including young impressionable person's) that a player with the Oklahoma team "demonstrates Cut Throat Competitiveness about him," a statement he said twice. His associate agreed that this is what is needed, etc,.... Now, stop! Take a moment to visualize the absolute meaning of that statement, it is horrifically violent act to consider it is in NO WAYS a compliment to another human being, I think you will agree with me that is so... So, if player's cannot simulate "A THROAT CUTTING ACT on the field of play, tell me why then, please, it is tolerated, even acceptable for the announcing crew of the game to speak PRIDEFULLY about a player's, "CUT THROAT COMPETITIVENESS." I suggest this be banned from the announcing booth, this guilty announcer would have to possess greater discretion than he demonstrated on television today to keep a job as a school teacher in front of 35 students let alone millions of people as he does each week... This is the absolute height of irresponsibility by the Network, The Executive Producer, Director and down the line to tolerate such language from the person charged with describing a family sports entertainment event where all people (old and young) are welcomed. It is a statement about who we are as a Nation when we simply allow grossly descriptive acts of 'DEADLY' violence into the friendly, safe environment of our living rooms while viewing a sporting event. I hope you will flag this and send up the line to the accountable people.
