Trying to fly to KL for motogp

Hi.
I was trying to fly to KL for this weekends MotoGP but because my australian passport is only valid for another 4 months the airline would not let me fly. I don't have time to renew it. Am I able to get something in writing (email etc) for the airline stating that I will be allowed into KL. I have GP tickets, Hotel bookings and return flight for Tuesday. My wife and two young children have already flown to KL tonite.
If I can get approval I can fly friday night.
