Came home on New Years’s eve (early, thank goodness) at 10p with my wife and two young children (who’s bedrooms sit above our kitchen). While locking up for the night, I noticed smoke in the kitchen, after looking around, I ultimately pulled my fridge out from between the cabinets and found the back bottom literally in flames. I unplugged the unit. And seem to now have a battle ahead of me, based on similar posts. It’s the Frigidaire Gallery model side by side, and while I’m grateful I caught the problem, I’m furious to find this is a known issue going back years and has not been resolved by the manufacturer!
