I came home today and all of my food is spoiled this frigidaire started smoking and looks like there are cheered marks where the cable goes into the back.

I got a new Frigidaire refrigerator/freezer in June 2017. It is an 18 cubic foot, top freezer/bottom refrigerator model. It does not cool properly. The temperature in the refrigerator is 49 degrees F. It is not safe to put food in a refrigerator that is at 49 degrees F.

Also, the refrigerator is terribly noisy. There is no place in my apartment where this loud refrigerator cannot be heard. I can hear this loud refrigerator even in my bedroom with the door closed. Frigidaire has the nerve to put in their owner's manual, under the heading "Normal Operating Sounds and Sights", that the following sounds are normal: boiling, gurgling, hissing, sizzling, popping, snapping, clicking, high-pitched hum, pulsating sound!! Yes, my refrigerator has a loud, high-pitched hum, which drives everyone nuts, and loud popping, snapping, clicking, etc.....and they have the nerve to call this normal ! But in all my life I've never had a loud, annoying refrigerator drive everyone crazy, yet Frigidaire will do nothing about this.

The refrigerator is at 49 degrees F which is unsafe to put any food in. The authorized technician yesterday wants to replace the compressor and two other parts, and he sent his request into Frigidaire. Frigidaire doesn't want to allow him to do this. They constantly want to send new companies out, new technicians out. There have been technicians out on 7 different occasions over the past 6 months, and these problems have not been resolved in any way.

Frigidaire will not replace a refrigerator under warranty unless it catches on fire! This is what they told me. They do not care that the refrigerator does not cool properly, nor that it makes loud obnoxious noises. They will not replace it. And after 7 technician visits, nothing has been fixed.

Whatever you do, never buy a Frigidaire refrigerator. These are terrible refrigerators, and Frigidaire is a terrible company. They do not stand behind their product.
