I have a year-old house and on my third refrigerator/freezer. Two were identical and were GE products model GFE28GYNGFS. The first refrigerator/freezer had compressor issues within 5-6 months and the contractor's vendor replaced it with "one on their showroom floor". Second refrigerator/freezer did the same thing within 8 months. Something was manufactured wrong or the refrigerators had defective parts or incompetent people putting the refrigerators together. Because the refrigerators were out of warranty I was told by Southern Pipe of Picayune Mississippi nothing could be done. An employee told me she could see about getting someone out to look at it. After a week of waiting, I got my own appliance person who said it was the compressor. Within 14 months, 2 refrigerators with the same problem in a 14 mo.old house. I'm paying monthly for the 3rd refrigerator from Whirlpool and for the useless one that is part of my house note. This should never happen to me or any other new homeowner.
