How did a smart girl like me fall for a scam like this?
I should know better. Booked 2 nights for a work related function, (which will be reimbursed) and since Taylor Swift was in town nearly every hotel was booked. So, I began searching via TripAdvisor and found great deal. Obviously, I failed to see the fine print that this was non-refundable and that if changes were made it would cost me. Do NOT use this site unless you know for certain that your plans will not change. There is nothing they can do about it, and they do not care. One bit. The customer service lady actually laughed at my request to cancel one night, while reading the fine print of their booking policy to me. I am furious. And, for the link to come from TripAdvisor, a site I use regularly, makes me rethink my allegiance to them, as well. After reading other complaints, I am now worried that my reservation isn't even valid. Calling the hotel directly now, which is exactly how I intend to book travel from now on.
