I failed a course at GCU online. I am able to attend GCU because of federal student loans. I was told by my advisor that I will not be able to start my next class until the failed course is paid for. She also told me that if I attend another school I will not be able to get a transcript or transfer my credits. I asked if my financial aid would cover the balance. I was told by her that it would only cover $400. When I started the conversation with her she stated that she could not tell how much financial aid I would be getting on next week, because I was in the early stage of being ready to certify on my award letter, so how could she tell how much the financial aid would cover. I asked to speak to someone in financial aid. My advisor told me that they had someone in financial aid but they could not talk to them and could not have contact with them. I have never heard of a student not being able to talk to a financial aid officer. Keep in mind I am more than half from completing my MPH. So, this is something that I should not be dealing with right now. I have already filed a complaint with the so called resolution team. If the can not assist me I will simply have to file a complaint with the Arizona State Board. I would not recommend GCU to anyone not even my worse enemy.
