I signed up with Great American Readers for 5 magazines a month for 29.90 a month for 20 months. Then I get a thank you letter in the mail saying I will be paying 49.90 a month for the magazines I chose. When I get my credit card statement they are charging me both the 29.90 and 49.90 for a total of 79.80 a month. When I called them up to complain they said I had agreed to it and it is not able to be cancelled but could not find the recording of the phone call even though they say they record every call. After a few months the magazines stopped coming, I called them up again and they told me they would make me a deal, they would cancel my subscription for $900 over the remaining cost the the contract. I was able to cancel my card and now they call me up screaming to grow up and pay them or else they are coming after me and going to ruin my credit. I don't know how they are allowed to operate this way I think it is absolute fraud. Stay away from them at all costs.
