WHAT A JOKE!

I purchased so much furniture from Bobs when we bought our house a few years ago. I was pregnant at the time, and my husband was convinced that we would need the warranty services because the sales rep and manager told us that sagging is covered by the warranty. We did it- paid the extra $100 or whatever it was. Two years later, I call because the couch is clearly sagging. A technician comes out and checks and can see its sagging. He also checked my mattress upstairs (paid for warranty on tht too) and came down- asked for my house phone- made a call and passed it off to me and said, okay bye!. I wasnt quite sure what had happened but then the guy on the phone starts telling me- i see you have some sagging on your couch cushions- this is not considered a manufacturer defect so we arent able to replace. Also, your mattress is sagging 3/4 of an inch, but you have a stain on it (mind you- i reported the stain and told them we always use the bed protector we bought from them too), so the stain voids the warranty and we cant do anything.

My head is spinning- I just got told basically that there are definite problems with the furniture but for one excuse or another, they arent going to do anything about it! We paid so much month on the warranty & always purchase it and the first time we use it, are being told it doesnt cover anything. I spoke with a supervisor to try to escalate the issue since we were told that sagging would be covered. She was really nice and offered to have the cushions stuffed- but then oops- she realized that they are attached leather and cant be removed. So now im really MAD!!!! I explain my frustration to the supervisor, who was really nice the whole time, and she basically kept telling me there is nothing they can do. What a waste of money this service has been. I asked for a refund on the warranty and she said she would call and get back to me. I'm SURE its not going to happen. Dont waste your money!!!

refused to cover warrantied item

We purchased a leather love seat a few years back. We bought the 5 year elite protection, which we always do. Like idiots. The last and only time we made a claim, they gave us 125.00 for a 400.00 piece of furniture that was a matched set. Now they're just outright refusing to cover a stain on my sofa because. My husband didnt "word it correctly" when he made the initial claim. You would think an rep would have called and talked to one of us to make sure the claim was made correctly. They didnt'. They're saying they dont have to cover it because I dont know when it happened or what it is. What does it matter? Stains are covered. I dont have 24/7 surveillance on my sofa. I also dont have access to a CSI lab to test it to see what it is. They say the conversation MAY be monitored for customer service reasons. NOT because they are going to review each and every "transcript" (Yes, she really called it that) to try and slip you up so as not to cover you. Sometimes people take statements incorrectly. We should have been given a chance to go over and review the claim. I was also informed, that any future claims on my sofa wont even be considered. I'm covered until August. How can they tell me now they wont cover anything between now and then? What if something else happens to my nice red sofa besides the stain they wont cover? They have already told me its not covered anymore. How can they do that? How can they just "steal" time from your contract? Its a contract. It states the time I paid for. How can they just say, no, you're done? We;re not covering anything else even though you're still under contract until August. When I asked why the other agent told me something completely different, I was told, "I dont know what she told you" Well pull up those transcripts and see. You cant have it both ways. If you're taping consumers to try and slip them up with one wrongly worded sentence, then they can look them up to see what she told me.

Accidental Damage sofa

Trying to contact this company after being purchased this sofa from Furniture Village and they recommend me to get insured your product from Guardsman. I paid for insurance, I had problem in my sofa, I contacted Guardsman they technical team came after coupler of weeks taken some photo. on arrival technical team advised your sofa seems to be an accidental damage and easy to repair. However, after couple of weeks passed and I had a letter came through via email illustrates, we don't think so this is an accidental damage so we are refusing your claim. the letter also explain the damage is occur because of continuous used. Ridiculous service.... never recommend to buy insurance from Guardsman.

carpet

having had a coleslaw stain cleaned last august , and a coke stain cleaned in sept/oct this year I rang to make a complaint that I was not satisfied with either , I was informed that the coleslaw stain would be done again with the coke one . not so , I then spoke to a lady [nameless] and then a man [also nameless], who with a salesman from a very well known local firm near to me ,have tried to find out what is going on ,as the man from guardsman has already said that they would replace my carpet . but you try and get hold of anyone ,hope less , so one last try and then its of the the courts

Dining table from hell

We purchased a white gloss table from furniture village and as we have young children we were advised to purchase a guardsman policy as everything is covered.
Not only have I been trying to get them to repair my table since June, it now appears their technicians are psychic. After a rather messy party for my 2 year old I called guardsman as has noticed some scratches and dents from the party.
The technician came, advised it was "beyond his remit" to deal with more than one dent so he took pics and went away.
That was the last I heard.
I contacted them again in sept and they had accidentally closed our case. It was re-opened, but not as priority, as Guardsman don't do priority!
I emalled them so everything was in writing, only to receive a letter to say that the technician who visited back in June said the damage had occurred over a few instances and not in one go. What? How? As I say, psychic.
My argument was that even if that was the case, as their technician is such a dent timing expert, why didn't he fix the latest one instead of refusing to mend anything?
I appealed, they rejected my appeal, then sent me a cheque for £50 as an apology for the delay.
So now I'm having to through the F.O which I didn't want to do. I just wanted my table fixed.

This company will do nothing to help with a claim,having been sold the warranty on the assurance that if a part or the cover needed attention that the whole sofa would be covered if anything should happen, This is not the case having delay after delay from GUARDSMAN been passed from pillow to post and months later all they offer is to cover part, even if sun shading and colour dosnt match thats the best they will do, this is a £2000 suit and the £240 policy is not worth a penny.theyre technicians say one thing to your face and then GUARDSMAN refuse to act on it. i have contacted SCS customer service who assured me the store would contact me, i am still waiting. the phone calls you do recieve from GUARDSMAN seem to be contrivual as to what your question is one minute its just customer relations that dont know anything and then ts the claim handler that dos not know anything other than its the technicians that do that ??????_ DO NOT BUY FROM EITHER SCS OR GUARDSMAN.

Nothing is covered

DO NOT BUY THIS INSURANCE! This is a scam they will do nothing for you other than pocket your money, lie to you, and be extremely rude on the phone. I had a burn on my kitchen table that is supposed to be covered I contacted this poor excuse for a company, sent in my forms received no response. Tried again and was declined due to the time between the accident and when they received the claim this a planned tactic, seems like fraud to me. They should not be allowed to sell in Canada kick them out. Why do companies like this stay in business? Perhaps attached to a politicians wallet.

guardsman insurance

I put a claim in to this company initially for accidental damage to the recliner on both the 2 and 3 seater. At the same time I reported the stitching coming apart at the seams. They told me that was not covered in the policy. Only the 'upholstery' is covered for tears and rips - not the stitching itself. I then noticed 2 rips in the 'upholstery' at a later date and they have denied this as I didn't witness the accident - can you believe it?? I have appealed this on the grounds that their terms and conditions don't state the accident has to be witnessed. They are an absolute disgrace - DON'T USE!!!

purchased this insurance from scs DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY guardsman are a bunch of clowns had a stain on our sofa they came out couldn't remove the stain so they said wwe will replace your sofa that was in December got a delivery date for 23 july that's been and gone they never phone back or send letters or emails the are liars and cheats not holding my breathe sofa we have ordered especially after reading theses threads

GUARDSMAN UK, DO NOT PURCHASE

DO NOT under any circumstances purchase this product from any furniture store if offered in the UK, i purchased this product when buying my sofa from DFS Cardiff a year ago, i only took it out as i have cats and the flimsy 2 page brochure i was given said pet scrathes are covered. ( ALARM BELLS SHOULD HAVE RUNG THEN WITH THE BROCHURE GIVEN )

So i naturally ring my store i purchased it from and they said my poicy is with Guardsman i need to ring them, so i didnt even know a year on that i had a policy with this so called company as i was never given any paperwork from them confirming this.

So i called them and arranged for an engineer to come and see my sofa, he turned up 2 weeks later, took a few photos and off he went, and said they will be in touch.

I had an email, yes an email form them saying my claim had been rejected as it had multiple scrathes on it and that they cannot fix the sofas, i didnt even get the coutesy of a phone call,

Am i under the impression that if you buy an insurance product in the UK that if it says that something is covered on a booklet you recieve from a reputable company and that this company is supplying the product on behalf of them you would expect it to be covered,

They just seem to do anything they can and lie to get out of repairing, this firm is an absoulte waste of time, and by no means take a policy out with this so called company what so ever, you will fight and get no sort of result,

Guardsman Furniture Insirance

Never ever again, if it hadn't been for the BHS Salesman pushing me to buy this Insurance I would not be in this position now, all it is is a prepaid cleaning ticket. Unfortunately nail polish was spilt on the settee January 4th this year, I contacted Guardsman who sent out a so called technician (a cleaner to you and I) he coulld not remove the stain. Since then I have contacted Guardsman who said they were ordering material to patch the settee, then it all went quiet, I telephoned and wrote again and they sent out yet another technician who said he was reporting back to Guardsman who would order material to patch, I asked how long this would take, his reply was (as long as it takes) that was on 11th March since then I have heard nothing, I have now contacted BHS by letter more or less begging them to chivvy Guardsman up
The irony is that had I not paid for this Insurance I could have claimed on my household insurance and would more than likely have had it settled by now with new for old.
Don't be a fool like me, don't be talked into this dry cleaning and patching service, it just is not worth the hassle, and iin my oppinion customers should be told at the onset that it is only a dry cleaning and patching service, any advice on how to get this company to act would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

DO NOT BUY GUARDSMAN!!

I purchased a sofa set 3 years ago from J/C along with a 5 year protection plan from Guardsman. One of my sofas began to start peeling for some reason. So, I called up Guardsman recently to file a claim. The representative took my information and told me someone would contact me to process my claim. A week later, I get a letter from guardsman saying that my claim was denied because I took to long to report the damage since it happened. I dont recall when I told them I noticed the damage but it was pretty recent. This insurance is a SCAM! I will never buy it again and Id rather buy new furniture than to deal with these fraudsters.

broken furnitre not getting fixed cause"not covered by plan"

Bought furniture from Bob's discount furniture bought a protection plan for 5 years. Well it has been 4 years theat i have had thee protection. A couple of mthes ago furniture theat i purchased started to break. First my dinning chairs thee cushions came completely off and one of thee foot legs brOKe. Then a couple of weeks later my son goes to pull thee rip cord for thee recliner on thee couch and theat breaks. Then thee hide away drew er to my chest in my bedroom came completely off and is hanging, thee wood on thee side where thee front and back meet is all brOKen. Now my couch is sagging in thee cushions are getting flat and when you sit thee thee cushion goes all thee way down to thee wood so it feels like your sitting on wood. So i call bobs to get all of theis fixed theey tell me since i moved to anotheer location i have to go therough theis company called guardsman. They gave me thee number i called and my complaints theey sent me forms i filled theem out. I had to wait for Bob's to send sale receipt's to send withe forms. So theat toOK 10 days to receive. When i made my first complaint it was back in July of 2012 well in august sometheing else brOKe so i waited to send everytheing all at once. I get a letter in thee mail stating theat thee requested info wasn't in on tI'me so thee service request is denied. So i called and talked to a supervisor explain thee situation. She told me theat because 30 days were up from when i made my first request theey cant do anytheing for me. Then i told her how i had to wait for bobs to mail receipts. Still sorry Mame i cant do anytheing about it I'm just going by your service contract. OK theen i said OK what about my chest withe thee drew er, theey said brOKen hinges or stuff coming off isn't covered under protection plan. I started getting very angry here and said to theese people so what do you guys protect. She said brOKen wood or metal. This place shouldn't even be in business theey are a complete scam. Not to mention theat theey told me theat theey sent me my protection plan back in Sept. of 2008 never got it never new theat theey were even my protectors. When i bought my furniture i was never told anytheing about theis place i was given a pentathelete withe a number to call if anytheing breaks, stains or needs replacement. Whenever sometheing brOKe before like thee cords on thee couch (constantly breaking) all i did was call thee number made an appointment for someone to come fix. They came out and fixed it. Never had to go therough all of theis crap. SO MY ADVICE TO ANYONE DONT PURCHASE GUARDSMAN PROTECTION IT IS A SCAM AND THEY ARENT GOING TO FIX YOUR FURNITURE.

Rude people Warranty

I purchase a furniture in Bob's Furniture and I bought The Protection Plan to this Company GUARDSMAN for 5 years, so one day I call this company and request to clean my sofa , they decline my request in almost a month, because according to them I wait a long time , and explain to managers that I sent right away after they send me the form , First they are unprofessional ,rude , arrogant , they hang up the phone , and they said the decline my request, I would said no BUY THE PROTECCTION PLAN TO THIS GUARDSMAN NEVER

Scam

I bought a couch. The seams came loose over from time from usage. As well, some holes appeared in one arm. I called Guardsman for repair. It took over a month to go through the paperwork and review process. They denied saying it is manufacturer defect and not covered. I could tell from day one they were focused on denying any claim I made. Do not buy this overage. It is a complete rip off.

Scam

The furniture is less than 4 years old, the Guardsman protection is supposed to be good for five years. Do not, not, not be roped in to buying this coverage. They have no desire to repair anything. Only take your money and run. Send you through hell and high water to submit a claim, then deny, deny, deny you.

Jerome's Furniture Guardsman Insurance

Jerome's Furniture Salesman sold us Guardsman Insurance (good for 5 years) when we purchased our sectional/recliner sofa set.
Within a few months the recliner mechanism busted. It totally just busted...so no recliner!!! Contacted Guardsman, it was so difficult to get the information to them and to have them get back to us was horrible. FINALLY...Guardsman had some guy come out, no business card, no phone or contact info. He fixed the couch, very unprofessional job! The pully for the recliner sticks out way to far. Unsightly too. The recliner on the other side broke, Guardsman refused to fix (all this is within the 5 years of the Insurance that we paid for) says we already had it fixed and they will only fix it once!!!! And when they did fix it it was with the same defective parts that broke in the first place. Called Jerome's Furniture...guess what...THEY DO NOT CARE!! Jerry and his people working for him DO NOT CARE! Really bad business. Really bad. March 16, 2012

Warranty

I will NEVER buy this protection again. They claim my repair falls under "normal wear and tear." I'm forwarding this to LaZboy and letting them know wthat this protection stinks. There was a time when LaZBoy stood behind their products. My chair is just over 2, and literally "balding". Lazy boy wants $332 to repair the damage, and Guardsman says it's not covered. I haven't heard about a scam this bad since preserving your wedding dress. Comfy chairs, but not holding up. They will be my last LaZBoys after years of buying nothing but this product.
