I went to the website Healthcare.gov to get health and medical insurance so I would be covered and not be fined for 2016.
The insurance companies I was interested in came up no plan for me and led me to Health Insurance Innovations. They had me sign electronically on my phone even as I was telling them I couldn't read the policies and needed to be sure I was covered. I kept being told no worries I will have complete affordable medical coverage. No Copay, I could go to any doctor I wanted, any hospital and facility I wanted and in any state plus I found out they gave me a life policy in the "Estate Of" for 100,000 and dental I told them I didn't need it. They told me it was part of the package and I would pay more if it were removed. I would only pay approximately 20.00 on every 200.00 bill. I had reservations about the whole deal taking 4 hrs off and on the phone but re-assured myself this insurance was going through Health Care. GOV. I understood I would get my package in the mail with a network of providers. I got cards from Principal Advantage Limited Benefit Health Insurance from Companion Life.(Multiplan) They charged me a one time fee of 274.22 on 2/1/16. Took an automatic payment of 149.22 from my account on 3/2/16. On 3/5/16 I needed to see a doctor and tried TelADoc online which was one of my benefits because the website had no network of doctors for me and got nothing in the mail. They had no accounts with my name or insurance member ID and could not help me. They tried researching for an hour or more. I tried contacting HIIQuote and every number affiliated with this new insurance. To no avail I went to a walk in clinic and they had never seen such a card or even heard of this insurance company. Being sick I paid out of pocket. Thank goodness that was affordable! I'm still trying to contact them writing this complaint and want my money back. I'm single self supporting and work hard for my money. Shame On Them is what I say and whoever else allows them to continue this scam representing themselves through a government link.
