Poor service
Went in to shop and was treated like crap. Made to feel like I was threre to steal something. I have been buying jewelry for many years and many stores. But never refused the opportunity to touch or even try one a piece of jewelry I was expected to spend over $3000 on. First I was made to go into a back room then surrender my drivers license then told the clerk could dangle it In front of me and I had to decide if I wanted it. A major purchase Like that I want know how it looks on me as well as get a sense of the weight I would be wearing. I have always been asked to “go ahead try it on see how it looks. Doesn’t that look good, etc. not at Helzberg. I was told they don’t have the gram weight available or a scale. All with a disengenuous smile. Or should I say smerk. As well as other “white” customers looking on. It was appearant my money was not wanted nor my presence in that store. Not only will I not spend there I will inform anyone I see fit that Helzberg treats black people like crap and may even consider further actions regarding social media and legal.

Sold my account to collections whilst it was current and in good standing
We were behind on our payment due to some financial issues and we called and brought it up to date. They then took our account and sold it to collections, with out warning, and didn't tell us they had done so. We went to pay it on it's usual due date and they said, "Sorry, we've sold your account to collections." Really, who does this when you have your account in good standing? Then we couldn't pay it at all because it was still being processed and the company they sold it to was unavailable to us. Also, when my husband asked what his next payment would be they side stepped and said, "Well, we will just have to wait until the next payment is due to find out." They knew they were going to do this to us but were totally shady about it. We were then forced wait on them to get their info in order and could not pay them because they were in the process of selling it. We actually had to track the company down, never got anything in the mail and we never received a phone call. The collections agency wanted us to pay them $500.00 in a lump sum and knocked our payment up each month in addition to that. When we asserted that we couldn't, They asked if we could borrow money from a family member! I've never dealt with a company that sold your account when it was in good standing, didn't warn you that they would be doing so as you made the payment and then didn't tell you that they had done so afterward. This is a terrible thing to do to a person, especially someone who has made good faith efforts to keep their account in good standing. Who does this? It's bad business practice. I'm sure people run off with things all the time but we actually care about our credit and expected more from a company that gladly took our money but sold us to collections anyway.

Told return policy 90 Days!!
I too have been ripped off by Helzberg!! My experience shopping for jewelry happened after my wedding ring set was stolen from my house. I hadn't had the need to shop for jewelry in 29 yrs. my husband was the one who furnished me with jewelry at occasions like anniversaries, Christmas, another baby..this time I was on my own. My husband works overseas and is a contractor in Iraq. I came across Helzberg while shopping in the mall and noticed their restyle event. I had acquired a stone from a friend who heard about my loss and offered to sell me his wife's stone. She died 2 yrs. ago and this was special to me since we were friends . I wanted something special to set it in. I needed a 6 prong setting.and was shown an unusual remount. I was told that there was an appraiser in the store. And would be able to get one that day for a price. I wanted to see what the mounting would appraise for first. The salesman told me it would be better to mount the stone first then have it appraised. The mounting was $4200. I paid for it . They set it. Then I was told that the appraiser was to busy to appraise it that day. He told me that the appraiser would be back in the store soon and he would give me a call. Weeks later I was in the mall I noticed that Helzberg was having another event with the same appraiser. I was not called so I insisted on having the ring appraised. I was told again that they were book but was offered to leave the ring with them and they would have it appraised and call me when it was done. Days went by and no call.so I went to the store to pick up the ring expecting the appraisal. The assistant Manager told me that there would be another event the next month and assured me that I Would be with in the time frame to return it, which she said would be NINTY DAYS!!The next event was when my husband was on leave. We went in together and finally got the ring appraised. I asked for the stone and the setting to be appraised separately which he did. The setting appraised for $2400.00!! Close to half of what I paid for it. When my husband demanded a refund, we were told we had 60 DAYS to to return it!! When I checked the receipt the policy print was so faint you could hardly see it!! We called customer service and was told the district manager would be giving us a call.. no return call. Today I called again and told them that if I don't here from someone by tomorrow that I will report them to The Fair Trade Commission and I'm able to hand this over to my attorney. I've been violated again. I'm sick to death!! I was robbed of my jewelry from my house and while trying to recover from that experience I was ripped off again!!

SPAM
Don't give your email address to Helzberg Diamonds! I'm in the IT industry, own my own .com domain, and protect myself from SPAM manually. So, I KNOW, when something changes, where it came from and why. I bought my GF a piece of jewelry over Christmas and gave my email address after the purchase for updates on upcoming sales. Since then, I've had to manually block over 750 SPAM sites coming from the UK because I gave Helzberg Diamonds my email address. They do not protect your email address information once you give it to them!! Don't give your email address to Helzberg Diamonds!

Horrible customer service!
My husband went to purchase my engagement ring from the Helzberg store in Bakersfield. The ghetto sales woman talked him into a ring that SHE liked better...and out of what I wanted. She assured him it went better with my wedding band that was already selected. The ring Is absolutely hideous!!!! I called hlezberg and told them that talking a man out of a ring is an awful thing to do when it's someone else who has to wear it for the rest of their life. I was told we could come in and exchange the ring. When we went into the store, the sales lady took my ring as ransom and wouldn't give it back. She also wouldn't honor the advertised price of the ring I wanted...which was only $400 more. She said she couldn't help us because the ring was $900 more. She wouldn't show us the computer listed price, nor would she honor what the price that said or what the Internet price said. My last wedding set was purchased at Helzberg for $11,000, not to mention all my other jewlery purchases to them over the years...you'd think they would value me as a customer and not act so shady. I will never do business with them again. I refuse to ever give them a penny.

Fradulent charges were put on my credit card
On, January 7, 2010 I went to pick up a package from UPS as it required my signature. When I opened the package, I realized that I had received a “diamond ring” from Helzberg Diamonds by mistake. I have never visited your website, nor had I ever purchased anything from them. I did the honest thing and I immediately call Helzberg Diamond, explaining that I had received the ring in error and would like to return it. The person I spoke to couldn’t explain to me why I had received the ring, but the invoice said I purchased it on January 4th. I was not in town that day, nor did I go on the internet on the 4th, and I never purchased anything that day, especially from Helzberg Diamonds.
On January 20th, I noticed Helzberg Diamond charged my credit card for $126.49 on January 6th for this ring, which is something I never authorized. I don’t know how they got my credit card, other than through internet fraud. They have compromised my credit card, and charged me with an authorized expense. This is outrageous of Helzberg Diamonds to practice this type of fraudulent business. I've sent the ring back and filed a complaint with my bank, hoping to get my money back and also sent a letter to the Beryl Raff, Chairman and CEO of Helzberg Diamond and also one to Laura Kirsner, CFO and Senior Vice President asking them to credit back to my account immediately the $126.49 charge. I'm still waiting on an answer from both my bank and Helzberg Diamond.

You most likely had your identity stolen by someone and they used your card to buy a ring... I highly doubt the company decided to choose you and steal your money.
