Non delivery/Item stolen
Last Thursday, I signed for a parcel delivered by Hermes. I was told "I have a parcel for you" (note the singular) and given a handheld device to sign. There was no visible information on the screen, just a space to scratch my name into the screen.
Well, it seems that I signed for 2 parcels, despite having only been given one. Of course I didn't know that there was another parcel so didn't question this. My wife then asks me upon her return home, "did you only get the one?"
Upon checking with Hermes, I had signed for both and so they aren't interested, even though there is something rotten in their house, they are declining to investigate any further. The seller won't refund, for obvious reasons, and I don't blame the seller to be frank.
So, the next step is to inform the police and to give them the opportunity to investigate theft within the Hermes system. Which would you prefer Hermes? A police investigation into a delivery system that can be so easily abused and stolen from, or just admit that there is a problem and look into it?
I hope this serves as a warning to others, we have lost some money but learned a valuable lesson. Not everyone can be trusted, so be careful who you buy your goods from, and who they use as a courier, as not all are equal, trustworthy or diligent. I for one will no longer knowingly buy from a seller that uses Hermes.
