Rented a 9 passenger van on 12/21/2019 for a one week rental. Engine went out same day they gave it to me. Called roadside assistance, said they couldn't help me until the next day. Left me stranded on the side of the road. Tow driver came following day to tow away van. Never heard from Hertz again. They just left me stranded in a foreign country. No one from roadside assistance could give me any answers, the rental location never answered their phone or returned my voicemail messages. I had the van less than 12 hours out of a one week rental. Imagine my shock, after the left me stranded in another country, to receive an email bill on 12/28 not only charging me for the one week rental, but also hundreds in extra charges for "not returning to pick up location" and not filling with gas- neither of which was possible as it broke down same day and they towed away the next! Still no response, called Hertz billing, said they'd get back with me in 3-5 business days with resolution and refund... haven't heard anything. Have proof of all this, so filed dispute with credit card issuer today. This is blatant theft and fraud.

We rented a car in Florence and dropped in Rome in pristine condition and with a full tank of diesel only to find a surprise charge of US 32+dollar charge on my visa statement yesterday. This is a disgusting criminal bullying act. These dirtbags must be eradicated of these practices immediately. I will contact Visa and Hertz where I am a President Circle member to be refunded but more importantly put these MF out of business from ripping honest people off. Let’s band together!!!! I am appalled Hertz tolerates.

Like others, I hired a car and returned it with a full tank of petrol, no damage and told nothing to pay.
Now I have just been charged 30.50euro twice on the same day.

No explanation from Hertz so reporting it as fraud to credit card and blocking payment.

Their customer service was APPALLING but fraudulent charges are unlawful - very disappointingfrom a multi-national company.

We vacationed in Tuscany and other northern parts of Italy in December 2018 to Feb 2019, In January/February of 2019 (2 to 4 months later), a charge of 30.5 Euros appeared on my credit card statement for Hertz Italiana Spa.

After speaking with my credit card company we assumed that it was some additional charge and paid it.
Then another charge for 30.5 Euros appeared on my next statement.
I cannot get an answer from Hertz (as it was not even Hertz through whom we rented those cars!) and my credit card company is now investigating.

After reading other complaints, I feel this is a fraud by Hertz Italiana Spa on many others as well. I also want to challenge these charges like many others before they start charging more and more without our knowledge!

I rent a car at Venice airport from 23 sept. to 12 oct. 2018 (# 34807472). On 21 nov. Hertz Italiana SPA Roma charge two payements of $47.42 cad. on m’y credit card. I did’nt received any explanation for thaï and never authorized those.
May I have a refund.

I rented a car in bologna Italy and return in March 2018. But it charged me total EUR62 in 23th MAY and 20th JUN 2018 without any explanation.What happened?

I returned the hire car with full tank in MARCH, and no damages. I have since received a charge of 31 Euro twice with no explanation in 23th MAY and 20th JUN 2018.What is the problem?So not sure how you prevent this from occurring??

My husband and I rented a car from Hertz Italiana Spa Roma last September (2017) and all charges were paid in full. Why am I now being charged $38.24 (US) on January 24, 2018, which I did not authorize?

I rented a vehicle in Rome , Italy in August. We complained through the entire trip about bad tires on the vehicle, but no one from Hertz would do anything about it. Three months later Imy credit card was charged 30.50 euro without my authorization. I called Hertz in the US because I cannot get ahold of anyone in Rome and they told me it was an adminstration fee. They cannot tell me what it is for, but they did say I may be charged more. What can I do. I am afraid this is a scam they are running. When we returned the vehicle it was checked in without any problems and we had no violations. I have looked on line and seen numerous other people who have rented from Hertz in Rome who have had this same thing done to them. Also I have enclosed pictures of tires .

I need to figure out why you keep taking money from my account without any valid reason. If you have a reason why there has been deducted money from my account for the third time, please write back. If i do not recive an email for you i will have to contact other athorities. The way you treat us as costumers is not at all acceptable. And i am very dissapointed.

Will I ever get my money back??????????

I have taken a car in April 2016 and cleared the all charges while returning the car. On 14th December 2016 they charged my card Euro 42.70 FOUR times, for god knows what and why. I did not receive any communication from them also in this regard. Seems their system is gone mad but THEY DON'T CARE about returning the wrong charges.

Rented a car for a few days and paid in full. One month later, charged 42.70 Euro. Then, 2 months later, additional 42.70 Euro. No explanation, not even in the country.

Signed Contract 349087340 at the desk in the airport. The saleman stated that the car is bright new and sent me to the parking. At the parking I realised that the car (Lancia Ypsilon) was already scrached back and front. I draw attention to the Hertz employee who marked on the European Vehicle Condition Report the location of the damages.
The Hertz Italy in Bergamo sent me the letter 0003990629 in value of 268 Euro without identification of the damages as photos and without cleare readeable "Chargeable Damages Definition" form.
At the moment when i pickup the car I took photos of the scraches and I notified the person in charge to prepare the car in the parking at Bergamo Airport (Orio al Serio Airport- BGY).
I'm attaching to the present the photos and the document "20160302 HERTZ European Vehicle Condition Report FC206SE Ypsilon".
Please note that I reject this behaviour of issuing additional cost without proves of any damage other than the ones I took in the photos and mark at the parking.

I received a $50.72 credit card charge from Hertz Italiana Spa Roma dated July 15th, 2011 in my August 2nd 2011 credit card statement. I called Hertz to inquire about the charge. They stated that it was a charged from them to cover the administrative fees they incurred in providing the Italian authority with my personal information in renting a car from them during my stay in Italy. To date, I have not received any notification from an Italian authority regarding any driving or parking infraction during or after my stay in Italy. I called my CC company to report an unauthorized charge and to close my CC. Is this the way we do business with " we are number one" rental car company?
