Putting Guests on Reservations
Have been an "owner" at the Hilton Club on 6th Avenue since 2015. Visit site regularly twice a year in May and October. Meet friends (a married couple) who are fellow theater lovers. As we come from 2 different areas and they drive but I use limo bus from Portsmouth,N.H. We usually arrive separately. The reservation is under my name as I'm the owner and at first when they arrived they were allowed to wait for room in lounge and shown to room if ready (I would give their name to reception over the phone that day). About 2 years ago we were advised there was a new procedure and when I made the reservation on line I had to fill out a Guest Form to allow them to possibly check in early (if they arrive before me by a few hours). I dutifully filled out the form but in May 2019 and again yesterday October 8,2019 my guests noticed that check in had their name as the person who reservation is under not mine!! Therefore, if I showed up before them I (the owner who used my points in my home club to book this) would be told I had no reservation and I'd need my guests permission to check in to my own property ??? When I asked the very nice lady at the 37th floor check in desk if that wasn't wrong she said there was no other way to do it and when I filled out the online Guest info form I was telling the club I was not coming but the guests were coming instead. If that is the case what do I do if I'm coming but I'm expecting guests who may or may not arrive before me ? I want to avoid arriving to discover I'm not welcome at my home club! Susan Moran
