Memorial Day. The day Americans pause to the remember those who died in defense of our nation's liberty. So the History Channel shows a program about slavery. I have no problem with showing this program on almost any other day, but Memorial Day? Unless they plan on showing programming about the sacrifice of our nation's heroes on Martin Luther King's birthday, I think this program is in very poor taste, at least. The Historu Channel will be off for Roots in our house as well.

MEMORIAL DAY, the day that all Americans pause to give thanks and recognize the men and women, (black and white), in our military. Some have passed on while protecting our country. But what does the History Channel have for their main programming on that day, ROOTS,. ROOTS is being advertised every hour. I have no problem with the showing of ROOTS, but on MEMORIAL DAY. Just what is the History Channel trying to say to the men and women who have died and are serving our country? To me it seems that the History Channel is saying slavery and the treatment of African-Americans are what we the American people should be thinking about on Memorial Day. Sad that a major television channel would do such an
un-American thing. Be thankful that all TV's have "on and off" switches.
