Howard Tanner Esq. located at 30 Vesey St, New York, phone #212-962-1333, is a terrible lawyer. I hired him to represent me on some domestic criminal charges. At first, he sold himself as a top notch defense attorney which he is far from. He praises himself as a former prosecutor in the Kings County District Attorney's Office (Brooklyn D.A. Office) which is laughable because any lawyer can get a job there. Now, getting hired to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office is totally different as they hire only the best and the most intelligent lawyers. Those lawyers that can't get into Mahattan D.A.O wind up working in Brooklyn D.A.O or Bronx D.A.O. For Howard Tanner to praise himself for working 5 years in Kings County is a true embarrassment not an accomplishment. In other words he was a wannabe Manhattan prosecutor.
Howard Tanner's legal education is on the lower end having graduated from the University of Miami School of Law. Yes, Miami Beach, Florida, some fun in the sun where you can lay on the beach, attend drinking parties, get a measly 2.5 GPA and still graduate. This is a party school and where Howard most likely developed his alcoholism.
To get back on track, yes, I hired him by mistake and I should have done my research on him. Anyway, from day one he showed up to my court date 2 hours late. The following month, my second court date, Howard decided not to show up at all causing me to sit in the court room for 8 hours untill my case was adjourned. The third court date, this idiot called the court clerk and had my case adjorned again and there I sat in the courtroom for another 8 wasteful hours. He never even called my cellphone to tell me. In fact, after he was paid his legal fees he stops talking to his clients on the phone claiming that he's very busy. Sure, busy drinking perhaps. On my fourth court date, Howard shows up 3 hours late looking like he just woke up or came to court straight from the bar, his business suit was wrinkled and his hair uncombed. He mumbled and slurred while speaking. I knew it was time to fired him and I did just that. I lost $10,000 dollars but I hired a better attorney who get my case dismissed. Yes, I full dismissal on technical issues but if I continued with Howard I don't what would have happened. I view Howard Tanner as a lawyer that is full of himself and can not deliver on his promises. He is not as intelligent as he wants you to believe. I saw right through him and can state, he is a scammer.
Taking a look at his office, it's very small and dimly lit there's two desks inside and paperwork scattered all over the place. You can tell if a lawyer is good or a bad by looking at his office. What top notch high profile attorney squeezes himself inside an 8x10 room which is shared with another lawyer ? Where's his secretary ? He doesn't have one. How about his paralegal ? Nope, he doesn't have any. Howard Tanner is light years away from being a high profile attorney. In his 25 years of practicing law he only had one high profile case and that was the Narcy Novack murder case. When Novack had no more money to pay Howard, he cried, yes Howard cried to the judge. He knew this one case would make him or break him. Folks, it broke him. Howard is a sad case for an attorney. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS LOSER.
