I’m not the only consumer this has happened to recently. I have seen my same complaint on Scam Guard, Complaints Board and Facebook. Hyperstech, Estonia are shipping Ecoheat S heaters that are for use in Europe to the U.S. market. They are not compatible for use in U.S. I bought 3 heaters and paid 187 U.S. dollars. Nowhere on the website or fine print was there stating the heaters are designed to only work in Europe. The heater has the wrong plug and voltage for U.S. They are 220 volt DC electricity 50 HZ. I contacted support to let them know of the error. They said to get power adapters although they know that’s not really a fair solution considering the inaccurate product description. These are heaters so you can’t simply get a two prong adapter like for a cell phone or tablet. The heaters would require a Step Up / Down Voltage Transformer at two times the cost of each heater since would need to convert 220 volt dc electricity 50 HZ to 110/120 Volt. They ship the heaters from China and I was informed to get a refund I’d have to pay for shipping back to their return department Estonia. The shipping for each heater is more than the cost of each. The cost of return shipping would mean basically no refund as they refuse to send prepaid return shipping labels for their mistake. If I do nothing I’m out $187.00 if I return them I’m out $195.00. 187.00 for purchase + 195.00 for shipping minus 187.00 for refund = 195.00 out of my pocket in the end for their mistake or their purposeful unscrupulous business tactics.
