To whom it may concern,

I am a Certified Public Accountant working here in the UAE and I am writing this email to complain about a certain Immigration officer who interviewed my Mother in the Immigration area before her flight to Dubai earlier today, April 9, 2018 around 1:30 to 2:00 PM Philippine time at NAIA Terminal 3. The Officer’s name is Leonor (my mother didn’t get her full name but I believe you can trace the record for this particular Officer).

She humiliated my Mother in front of the many people in the Immigration area. Sabi niya sa Nanay ko, “Teacher pa naman kayo tapos namemeke kayo ng documents!” For the record, matagal kong pinag ipunan ang pagbakasyon ng Mama ko ditto sa Dubai and lahat po ng papeles na pinadala ko are attested ng Philippine Embassy dito sa UAE. Leonor should’ve verified it first before saying it was fake and saying that my Mother is a liar. Does she not have respect for teachers? So what if my Mother is a teacher? She doesn’t have any right to humiliate my Mother and use my Mother’s profession against her. What she did is very inhuman and disrespectful as an Immigration Officer.

My Mother is employed in the Department of Education for more than 20 years and this is the first time she was humiliated in her whole life. Walang kahit sinong anak ang gustong mapahiya ang mga magulang nila and I am just a daughter who cannot forgive this kind of treatment to my Mother.

I understand that these Officers are strict and that they just want all travellers to travel legally but that kind of conduct is totally unforgiveable. May High Blood Pressure pa naman ang Mama ko. She was literally shaking while I was talking to her over the phone after the incident happened. Kung inatake ang Mama ko during that time, sila ba ang magpapagamot sa Mama ko? Hindi diba? You don’t have to be rude and humiliate any person and tell them they’re liars to test the truthfulness or their real intentions of travelling abroad. Just a reminder, you’re just officers, you are not God to judge anyone so you don’t have the right to call my Mother a liar.

I hope you take action for this Officer named Leonor at NAIA Terminal 3.
