My wife and i both indian nationals were flying from phnom penh to mumbaion the 7th evening with transit at singapore. I had a confirmed ticket from singapore to bangalore and onwards to mumbai for 8th of sept morning 5.30am by indigo airlines. My luggage was booked till singapore from phnom penh. Also had boarding pass only till singapore. I flew phnom penh to singapore by jetstar. On reaching singapore i approached transfer desk c in terminal 1, for boarding pass and tranfer tickets for luggage. Instead was told that we have to go to immigration get a visa on arrival, collect my luggage and reenter terminal 2 for indigo. This despite seeing all the documents including the confirmed ticket to bangalore for after 4.hrs.30 min later. On checking with the immigration dept. At tranfer c, on seeing the cnfirmed ticket than also they just asked us to deposit our passports and before we could realise we were told that after 1.5 hrs that now only jetstar could do something or we will be deported to phnom penh. No reason was ascribed as to why. If they wanted us to be deported they could have easily taken us to terminal 2 and put us on the flight for which we had a ticket. This was happening from 1.35am of 8th sept. To 2.30am. Neither were we allowed to speak to anyone nor allowed to speak to jetstar employees. The flight of indigo was at 5.40 am on the 8th. Probably after it departed a jetstar employee comes to us makes us buy a ticket from their tieup airline for indian rupees 21000. For 10.20pm for the 8th. Now the situation became the same, till than i had indigo ticket now i had scoot ticket and were sent on this flight after a tortourous detention of about 20 hours for foolish, ill knowledgeable people of hetstar, tranfer desk and immigration staff under tranfer c. No immigration staff even spoke to us and just decided to detain us. I want to be compensated for inr. 32000, for ticket to mumbai, for the tremendous strain we underwent during 20 hrs. Not knowing what will happen, loss of my one full working day in india. Also none of the staff at detention area understood why were we detained. The staff of transfer c was a malaysian indian who should be traced and fired she was there at the counter at 1.10am. And the immigration lady at immigration assist desk at 1.30am. I also need the following information as to why was i detained, why did jetstar employee come after my indigo flt. Had left? Are there incentives for immigration staff for detaining people? Jetstar employee was so much for selling a ticket rather than helping me out. Each person felt trying to take advantage of the unfortunate situation we found ourselves, i will take this as far as it has to go to make the immigration, transfer and jetstar staff to b trained for more knowledge
