Car Accident
I was rear ended by one of the Iowa Steak Companines drivers in a work vehicle. The damge to my vehicle was minor and nobody was injured in the accident so the driver and I exchanged information and did not call the police. The driver didn't have the vehicle registaion or proof of insruance for the company vehicle but gave me the business card for his route supervisor. I contacted the route supervisor immedately and asked her how she would like me to handle the situation. Option 1 file a police report and insurnace claim to handle the damages. Option 2 she could arrange for me to have the damages taken care of at a local body work shop they use for their fleet vehicles and leave the police and insurance companies out of it. Obviously the seocnd option is preffered for eveyrone involved, the driver dosen't get a ticket, and both my insurnace and the Iowa Steak Companines insurance rates wouldn't be impacted. I agreeded to handle it between ourselves so I never filed a report. I sent her pictures of the damages and she assured me after the Thanksgiving Holiday that she would schedule a time for me to bring it into the shop. I never heard back from her so I followd up a week later and was told it is "on her list" and that she should give me a call back soon. I still never heard back from her so I let her know that if she couldn't set it up by a certain date and time that I would have no choice but to file a police report and go through insurance something that nobody wanted. Still no response, I have not yet filled a police report and would like to have the damaged repaired to my vechicle. It is probably less that $500 in work and I didn't think a reputable company would take advantage of me trying to help everyone out. Come to find out through social media that the driver of the vehicle is in a realationship with the route supervisor and they probably tried to cover the entire incident up and had no intentions of ever fixing the damage to my vehicle. I wrote an email to her and cc the customer service email address for both the local business locaiton and the larger corporation and almost a month later have not heard anything back from anyone.
