On 10/30/21, my partner, Ben Perry and I visited the Jiffy lube in Howell NJ for an oil change on
the 2003 Subaru Forester. We wrote on the paper to check to see if there were any problems
with burning/leaking oil because the oil levels had been too low quickly. We then went to get a
snack and wait for the car to be done with its oil change. We came back and paid $35 dollars for
the oil change because I found a $15 off coupon. No one answered the question about the car’s
burning/leaking oil so I figured it was fine and that the oil was just low because it needed a
change.
Then on, 11/7/21, as I was driving home from work in Bordentown up to a dinner at my partner’s
mom’s house in Freehold. Then my car began to make a clicking noise on the Turnpike just
before exit 8 so I pulled over to the side of the road. Then, my Subaru Forester flat-lined on the
side of the road. She wouldn’t turn on. When I turned the key in the ignition, the car would make
screeching noises, clunk then stop completely. I called my father and we eventually got the
turnpike tow truck to bring us off the turnpike. Then we waited for much too long for the next tow
truck which brought the car to Rayco in East Brunswick. Jesse checked it out and said that it
had no oil at all, the engine had completely stalled and the car was totaled. The car is still there
as of 12/2.
