Credit Card closed
I have been with Kay Jewelers since 2018 and had a credit line of $2000. They went and closed my account due to inactivity. I had used the card within the last 11 months. They closed my account without my knowledge. I never received any correspondence prior to them closing it. With them closing it my credit score took a huge hit and dropped it over 100 points. I called them to complain and I was told it could not be reopened and I would have to reapply. Well I went to reapply and asked for the $2000 credit limit and they denied me! Needless to say I am very irate because not only did they destroy my credit with closing my account but my credit score took another hit with me trying to reapply for credit! I will never buy from this company ever again and when I go in to get my bridal set cleaned and inspected, I intend to let them know they will never have my business ever again!!!

switched diamonds
my husband bought me the Ever Us ring for Christmas last year. When we looked at it in the case, and I tried it on, she told us it was the 1 1/2 carat ring, it was perfect and so clear. After they had "sized " it for me and we got it back the ring didnt look the same. I went to a jeweler in town who said- "let me guess, you got this at a Kay jewelers?" I asked her how did you know,"she replied the diamond is not as big as you think and it is full of carbon and flaws. They are known for pulling scams like that" I am heart broken, Now what do we do?

Different diamonds after resizing.
Kay's sells you jewelrythat is correct in the stores, then after sending it out to be resized they replace the diamonds with smaller sized, lower grade fakes or carbon infused diamonds of no quailty. Always ask to see you piece next to an original from the case after being returned to you. They replace bands with low grade metal that changes you skin color when it's is supposed to be 14k gold, their sterling turns a rose metal color from bleaching which didn't happen in the 3 months prior to sizing.

worst place to buy jewelry from
My husband bought my ring three years ago, I had it on two days and one of the top four diamond fell out I took my ring to our Kay's store the lady there said oh we weren't suppose to size this ring that small so they sent it off and finally got it back after four months. I noticed that the diamond that was replace didn't fit in line with the other three and it was darker in color, I really didn't want to send it back until I had gotten married. So after I had gotten married I took it back to be fixed cleaned and dipped well when I got it back it was everything but fixed. Then in November I took the ring to them told and showed them what was wrong with it and I wanted it fixed they said OK we'll have it back to you in about a month. Today I pick my ring up and notice while I'm driving that the diamond isn't fixed and my ring was never cleaned or dipped and it looks like crap. I call corp. Office and they call the store in our town and their solution is to bring the ring back and show them what's wrong with it AGAIN I told them no thanks I'm done with Kay's and I'll be going somewhere else to buy a new braidel set.

Horrible customer service
Worst customer service EVER. My engagement ring was a family heirloom, so finding a wedding band that would compliment it was tricky because it was so outdated. We found an enhancer band at Kay's in February and that was the beginning to all of our problems and head aches. I gave them specific instructions not to touch my engagement ring because of the history, they made it two sizes bigger so I couldn't wear it till I got married in July. I had to send my wedding band back on 5 separate occasians because they couldn't get it right. So when I had my Bachelorette party, and my bridal shower, or any other family function, I couldn't wear my engagement ring and when questioned about it i had to say it was at the jewelers getting cleaned. After my rings had been in the case in a drawer for 5 months I finally got to wear it! I was so excited, well go figure, a diamond had fell out of it after 3-4 days. I took it back to complain about only having it for a few days and that a stone had already fell out. They had nothing to say other than we will rush it to get fixed. I haven't even been married a week and again I don't have my rings. Two weeks go by and I get the call that my ring was in, immediately I went to get it. A few days later I get a phone call saying I needed to bring it back in because there was a mix up, I told them I would when it was a convenience for me. Three months go by and I finally got around to taking it in. They took it, cleaned my engagement ring, gave it back to me with a different wedding band, and were sending me on my way. I immediately stopped and noticed that the band was smaller and that my ring looked 100% different. They then began to tell me that the jeweler sent me the wrong ring by accident, a ring that was 1/2 ct. bigger than what I had purchased and that it wasn't their fault. So here i am, completely upset and disappointed because Ive had a bigger diamond weight for the past 3 1/2 months, to now a ring that I am not comfortable with. They told me I could call customer service if I had a problem, so i did. The lady I spoke with so beyond rude and unsympathetic she said there was nothing she could do. So if i would have never taken in the ring this wouldn't have been an issue. Furious, I go home and research reviews for Kay's just to find out this was not the first time it had happened. They go from loosing a ring, to damaging rings, giving customers the wrong rings, to just down right terrible customer service. Even their Facebook page has nothing but bad reviews and negative comments, the list goes on and on. I really wish I would have known about them before we trusted them and purchased from them. and the fact that I have to give them my service every 6 months to get my ring inspected so I don't loose my warranty literally makes me sick. I refuse to give them another penny and I'll make sure I spread the word about how horrible the business is, and how poor the quality of their customer service is.

Poor Customer Service
Worse Customer service ever
15 years ago I purchased a 5ct tennis bracelet for my wife at the Dayton Mall J.B. Robinson. During the same time we purchased a 4 diamond 2 ct ring for me. We purchased the extended service plan for both with the promise “lifetime protection”
We have taken our jewelry for the scheduled inspection every 6 months as instructed per the agreement. My wife’s bracelet has been in for service 12 times, 4 times in the last 12 months. My wife has come very close to loosing her bracelet several times, once at a restaurant where we got home and noticed her bracelet had fallen off once again. We called the restaurant where a very honest Manager said it was found, we could pick it up. Once watching a football game for my kids, when my wife noticed it fell off we had the entire team searching the football field. This last time it fell off while driving the car. My wife is a stay at home Mom, not like she is working on cars or digging ditches, she wears her bracelet every day, and it holds a lot of Simmental value to her. Today her bracelet was promised to her once again after dropping it off a couple weeks ago. We were told the bracelet was not ready and might be 3 more weeks to get it back, we were also told the bracelet had a lot of gold wear, and was going to cost Kay’s over $600.00 to repair through ESP. They suggested we trade in our bracelet towards a new one; however they would only give us what we paid for the bracelet 15 years ago. Diamond and Gold prices have truly rose during the last 15 years, my thought being that is why people buy investment type jewelry expecting it to increase in value. What will trading in a 5 ct diamond bracelet purchased 15 years ago you ask? It will get you a 3 Ct Tennis bracelet without adding any money. Just during the last year having this piece repaired 4 times cost Kay’s over $1,000. We were told this piece would most likely continue to have problems because a Tennis bracelet of this weight was designed to last 10-15 years. My question is to Kay’s Customer Service: Please tell me why if the jeweler knows this, why would Kay’s not simply replace this damaged bracelet with a new bracelet? We were guaranteed a lifetime of protection. The Manager at the Tuttle Mall, Dublin Ohio Store # 9093 Kay Jewelers is very helpful where even he can’t understand why something else can’t be done either. For a company that has been in business this long truly don’t understand the meaning of putting the Customer first. I purchase a new piece of jewelry for my wife every 2-3 years; it has always been JB Robinson or Kay Jewelers till now. Never again will I purchase from this company. There is times where you put the Customer above the bottom line.

Their employees lie to you and corporate do nothing to prevent it
Those people are snakes! I went to look at rings with my fiancée about 3 months ago. They presumed to try to presure me into buying a 2500 ring, that I wasn't in love with. When I finally bought a ring and had to wait over two weeks to get it back from being resized, I quickly realized it was to big. I took it back and they measured it and found out it was a 1/4 to big and they told me when i first purchased it to size it at a 4 1/2 so when it gets hot there's room for my fingers. They wanted me to wait another two weeks to get it resized...AGAIN! This company has some serious flaws and there only out to get your money, they don't have your best interest at heart! I'm sorry they treated you all like crap but now know how they do buisness!
