racist racist

"Most white people are racist" is a racist statement in and of itself. I agree that the store should have gotten both sides of the story before jumping to conclusions. Seeing how the "lied about altercation" was over, I agree security was un-necessary. It would be one thing if you were both yelling and cursing at each other in the middle of the store. Not all people are racist, please don't let one idiot allow you to form an opinion about all.

The problems aren’t worth any savings

Back in July 2011 I opened a Kohl’s credit card account at one of their registers after making a purchase and received a temporary use receipt with my credit card number on it. After a couple of weeks the receipt had expired. After one month, I still had not received my permanent credit card nor a bill. I called the customer service number at Kohl’s and this rep with an indian accent told me sometimes it takes longer to receive the card, and to wait a little longer.

Sounded to me like he didn’t want to do any work to investigate what the problem might be. Well, it is now mid-September 2011 and still no permanent credit card or bill. Late last night I received a voicemail message on my phone telling me to “Call Kohl’s at 888-814-3555.” The recording repeated that message at least 5 times and very loud and rude, I may add. This morning I called to find out they were calling about my missed payment.

I told the phone rep about my call to them in July but she didn’t seem to care and told me if I didn’t pay before the 22nd it would reflect badly on my credit rating. I’m going to Kohl’s store tonight, paying the balance, and closing my account. (That’s a joke – - since I didn’t even receive the card yet.)I want NOTHING to do with them anymore. They can stuff their coupons. The problems aren’t worth any savings. I suggest you do the same.

Victim of Racial Discrimination

On 6/9/2011. Location: New Albany, Ohio 43230. Kohl’s Store #0329. Decided to go shopping at this Kohl’s department store, which was not my normal location for shopping. However, while I was shopping with my son, I needed to get through a group of customers socializing taking up the whole aisle. Well, I figured that I would wait a few seconds and one of them would notice that I needed to get through. This never happened, eventhough one of the male customers was slightly turned in my direction so he was aware of me standing and waiting with my stroller so I could get through. I was actually on my cell phone, talking to my husband when I said “excuse us”.

They preceded to move, but with a stare like I had done something wrong to them. Then I returned back to my phone conversation, I hear the male blurt out “We weren’t in your way, Bitch.” And I repeated exactly what he said back to him. I then decided to leave the department, as the group just stares. By then, one of the Kohl’s associates comes the male said that I cursed him out, during this time the rest of his friends leave and go to another department. The associate says, “I’m going to call security and ask for you to leave the premises.” While the male that called me the bitch said that he was going to call the police.

I told him to call, and that I’ll wait, because I knew that I was telling the truth as to what had happened. I explained to the associate that I wouldn’t dare curse with my kids in my presence. And that the word that he used wouldn’t have been a word of my vocabulary. By this time, I just wanted to drop the clothes that I was buying and just walk out. But I went to check out instead. Then Kohl’s security comes and pretends to be looking at jewelry until I paid for my items. As I look to where the male customer was I had the altercation with, I noticed the same associate talking privately with him.

What bothers me about the situation that encountered on this day is this: Not one Kohl’s associate came to my defense to see if my son and I were okay. My assumption is this, I’m a African American and the male customer was Caucasian. This automatically triggered to the associate that I was in the wrong which I knew I wasn’t. Her statement “I’m going to call security and have you removed from the premises.” Not even knowing the story as to what led to the altercation. I’ll never EVER shop there at Kohl’s again. They need to learn how to correctly deal with situations like this.

For the record, Kohls Department stores and associates, not all African Americans are liars, stealers and/or mouthy as perceived to be. Some of us do have alot of class to ourselves, money and a education. There can be Caucausians in the world that are ignorant and just observe things as one-sided. This situation was one of them.

Victim of Racial Discrimination

Yes, it was racism. Not all, but MOST white people are very racist, but they try to be sneaky about it. Look at how they are all hammering this woman who was a VICTIM! So she was talking on the cellphone. So the hell what! Do you know how many people talk on the phone in stores? If I could get a dollar for everyone I saw talking on a cellphone in a store, I would be friggin' rich! Its not like she ran into the group of people who were standing in a group, nor was she being rude. She DID say "excuse us, " because they were blocking her. You know what else...if the roles were reversed and this was a white woman, and the people doing this to her were Black, you people would take the white woman's side. The fact that they called security? PURELY, and CLEARLY racist! What reason did they have to call security? What kind of threat did this woman WITH HER BABY pose? NONE! You white people are so slick. Getting at her for playing the "race card?" Well, sometimes, you have to call it for what it is, and the Kohl's associates were the racist ones here. All this woman wanted to do was buy some clothes and go home. I strongly doubt that she would go to KOHL'S to start trouble. You people are silly. LOL!
