Solar Panels Fraud

Yeah total ripoff them solar panels. Bought a few a couple of years ago. Size didn't match up to other panels out there. Now they're still selling their 'cheap' panels for a lot more now than you can buy a real 190 watt panel for that properly measures 1580x808 mm, buy now on ebay for $200 to $250 bucks each... Hope they come in contact with that proverbial rough end of the pineapple one day.

I believe you need to go into a store when you buy your products.
I have been to there showroom and picked up my goods I tested and all is ok.
I tried buying stuff from overseas and it took a long time to get it this is why I like to shop locally the old fashion way.

Solar Panels Fraud

LHP (Luxury Home Products) also known as Solar Energy Store are as dodgy as they come. This business advertises on eBay, on the internet directly, in Blues Magazine, in caravan and camping magazines and they go to agricultural and trade shows to sell their wares. They have a shop front at Seven Hills in NSW. They are frauds. The products they sell are branded as INFOMON and are not what they are advertised as, they do not work as specified and unless you have some hold over them, like you purchased through eBay and are still able to give bad feedback, they are not interested in fixing any problems.

I purchased 6 x 200w Solar Panels off this company in August 2011 in a transaction over the phone. These panels were to be added to an existing off-grid remote area solar power plant. These panels are supposed to have a 25year warranty. The panels took approx. 1 month to arrive. It seems they got lost at the courier company and then courier wanted me to travel over 100km to collect them. When the panels first arrived they seemed to be smaller than 200w panels I had seen previously. Not knowing any better I thought that the technology may have improved and they must be able to pack more punch in a smaller package these days. Due to illness and various other reasons the panels were not installed till December 2011. 200w panels are supposed to put out 11 amps in ideal conditions and this is what the stickers on the back of these panels also said. Bear in mind that my 8 year old 85w panels sticker says 4.5 amps max and I regularly get 5 amps out of these panels. The highest output I have been able to record from the 200w lhp panels is 7 amps. I started to do some research and testing of these panels. I found out that most 200w panels have at least 72 cells. Even the lhp panels pictured on eBay have 72 cells. The lhp panels I received only have 54 cells.

Please note I have since purchased 180 watt panels from a different company. These panels have 72 cells. They also produce slightly more than the rated 10 amps.

I have tried contacting them by phone, I have contacted them by email and they are simply not prepared to do anything about it. They originally simply ignored me. Then when I emailed them that I was going to put my story on the net and contact media they pretended to try and work things out. They were really only playing a delay game that others have mentioned on the net, with no intention of really doing anything. They did ask if I wanted to send the dodgy panels back to which I responded that if I did I know Iwould never see them again or replacements or a refund. Strangely they made no attempt to deny this.

I also know of a friend who purchased a generator off them at an Ag show. The generator worked for ½ hour and never worked again. This was eventually replaced by lhp after the friend was about to go in to see them. So far the new one works although they only ran it for ten minutes.

I have also seen people on the internet complaining about this company ripping them off by claiming they can get the govt. rebate on their panels. The govt. has a list of approved panels. Only panels on that list are eligible for the rebate. These panels are not on the list. That is probably because they do not come up to specifications.

There are many complaints about this business on the internet if you look for them. Some of these people complain that they have gone through official channels including court, ASIC, Consumer Affairs departments for various states, etc. It seems all these government departments are toothless tigers. I thought the Australian Government was trying to encourage us to become green and use Solar Electricity Generation. What is the Carbon Tax about?? Why, when people try to do the right thing can they get no real protection from the government? I have also done some investigation on the net and found many other complaints about this business. Unfortunately most people like myself don’t tend to look for complaints until they have a problem of their own. In this case Lhp tend to sort out only the complaints that go through eBay so as not to get a bad profile.

Solar Panels Fraud

I had the same problem with this company LHP. They are bad news and need to be stopped. Ordered 2 x 250 watt panels and received two panels that were not nearly as big as my 175 watt panels but were labeled as 250 watt. Did a current test in full sun and did not come close to 250 watts. Again same problem they ignore all e-mails and divert me when I contact them by phone. please DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY.
