I agree they should be shut down. They are evil.

These people need to be shut down. Aggressive means by which they advertise by putting someone's tax debt on the front of the envelope is absolutely evil. I am one who would like to start legislation where a tax lien cannot be public information. It is on a person's credit report. That should be enough. To be constantly harassed and scammed by these unscrupulous companies needs to be stopped. It actually defeats the purpose for the IRS by making it difficult for people to emotionally function when everyone is finding out their financial business.

I found Link & Associates at www.wehelptax.com where I was pretty impressed with what I saw. I have been a tax relief client now for two months and just received my settlement package. Originally I was told that the time frame could vary from 30 days to 6 months so I was a little surprised to get it this quick. They told me that this was because I had a 1099, 1040 case, if it were a 940, 941, or 1120 case things would have taken a little longer. I think it was because I was calling for constant updates so maybe they just wanted to get my case done so I would stop :). They took all of my calls and always assured me that they had everything under control.

They were about $500 off of the original estimate but the attorney explained that this was because I had approximated some of the numbers in the original phone conversation. Either way, this company saved me over $19, 000 so I’m a happy camper. I told them before I signed up that if things worked out I would drop a good line about them so here I am. I also just referred my employer to them but apparently they cannot save him as much as they did with me for his type of tax. With Sales Tax they can do a Penalty Abatement which still reduces the penalty and interest for him. I know you guys will do a good job. Thanks for being honest and taking all of my calls.
