It used to be a good long distance company a couple of years. ago, until last year I can hardly contact my loved ones in the Phils. It just kept ringing or just a busy signal most of the time when I make a call. But if I use another provider to call long distance such as T mobile right after unsuccessful calls from owtel I don't have a problem in getting connected. And also OWTEL does not have a good reception anymore I don't know what is going on with this company. If you won't pay your bill you will accrue penalty plus tax even your no longer using their service for several months, so even you only have a balance of less than $15 dollars from a couple of months using their service they will keep charging you penalty plus tax from the penalty and service fee for the rest of your life till you pay all the penalty bills plus your few dollars usage bills from 6 months ago that is past due. I was trying to make a deal with them regarding the penalty so I can settle and close my account but they just discounted $10, oh well not so helpful. So it's either pay the rest of your penalty which is way more than your usage bill or let it go and owe them the penalty plus monthly service fee which you are not using anymore plus tax till you drop dead or I may say, even you are six feet below the ground. Here's their other way of collecting money from you even you are already an inactive member. BS
