Rip off
Well, what a lot of crap! After receiving a letter stating I had officially won one of their prizes, I did all the google things to see if it was a scam, Was still a little sceptical but ended up ordering something anyway (which I wanted), no prize came with order so I contacted them and they said they would send prize if I gave them all the claim numbers etc. Turned up today... $2 shop plastic necklace and earings that I wouldn't even give to a child. Massive scam to get people to purchase from them. I certainly wont buy anything from their catalogue ever again.

Magnamail Pty Ltd
My family subscribes to the Australian Women's Weekly, and a few catalogues came with the magazines- including the Magnamail catalogue. Attached to the catalogue were those windows that you scratch out, the biggest revealed my code, and the rest of the windows were under pictures of $25,000 cash, a watch, pendant, LCD screen TV and $5,000 cash, amongst others. It was stated that if my code appeared more than once, I was eligible for a prize. Since my code appeared in four of the prizes, one of them being the $25,000 cash, it seemed that I simply had to order a product from the catalogue to claim my prize, however, there is absolutely no option where I can claim the $25,000 specifically.
On the overleaf, you could fill out your personal details should you need to be contacted in the event that you were a major prize winner. You could also select a box that states that 'YES', you would like to claim your prize. Even though my code aligned with the major cash prize, this was also true of another four of the ten prizes. It seems obvious to me that should I place an order to claim my prize, they would give me the cheapest option of which my code appears or nothing at all, because it is clearly a scam.
From here I did further research on magnamail. There's a fully functioning website, the FAQ section for winners seems reassuring and there's even a video of a woman who received her cheque. The terms and conditions seems to check out, there's a 1800 hotline for you to call, an online shop and a registered ABN number.
It is even claimed that the Australian newspaper publishes names of major winners, however a simple search on the Australian yielded no results on any such articles. Furthermore, there are complaints that have been made about these major cash prizes that are of a similar nature of my own, by simply typing in "Magnamail scam". To my disgust, it seems that elderly people seem more susceptible to these claims, and that there were other hopefuls who were even called that a cheque was coming their way, only to receive a shoddy package, with one person receiving a piece of tin material of some sort.
A search on Austlii (www.austlii.edu.au) shows Magnamail's presence in litigation, particularly in New Zealand, and these documents provide further insight into their elaborate schemes.
Their business is built behind a veil of legitimacy. While their catalogue may sell products (and there are even good reviews out there), purchasing any of them isn't going to win you prizes. This type of deceptive and misleading conduct goes against any legal practices, no matter how much their website claims to conform to it.
I feel that there will be a long way to go before the dishonesty of Magnamail can be stopped, and hopefully my complaint can reach the eyes of those who are feeling uneasy like I was. I urge anyone with a similar experience to write about it from a platform such as this one, because while a good word of mouth travels far, a bad one travels even further.

Personal Masager
I ordered a neck massager from Healthpride and when it arrived it looked like a gigantic penis. There is no way I could use this on friends and my friends that saw it died laughing. I phoned Healthpride and was told that there had been a lot of complaints and returned massagers for the same reason. I was told I could return it but needed to find my packing slip. However they could give me the details if I couldnt find it. I felt the add was false advertising as the offensive end was cleverly hidden by the model's hand. I had to go to Australia to help with grandchildren and phoned them again when I returned. However they now say I am out of the 90 days period for returning so cant get a refund. I think people should be warned that even if you have contacted them they wont honour their word and also be warned about the offensive item. So my advice is STEER CLEAR OF BUYING FROM HEALTHPRIDE. They are not an honourable company.

Health Pride New Zealand
Now I didn't believe I'd win anything,- re- bogus scratch cards
My daughter wanted to try but couldn't afford an order- I tried to tell her it was a scam.
But to prove to my hard up, life challenged daughter, that this was just another scam I put in a small order $32.70 all up with postage.
Still our money is hard earned- OBVIOUSLY No prize, and No goods either, despite the cheque being cashed.
Shameful way to do business preying on the vunerable.
