Young man says he is neighbor trying to raise money for a soccer tournament out of state. He says "the subscription goes to those serving in the military in the hospitals in Bagdad". Gives me a receipt and says it is tax deductible. My fault that I did not read the receipt right then and there, because it does state on the receipt it is a profit organization.

After researching the company more after he had left I found that this company is a scamming company and those subscriptions will never go to those serving our country and that the young man was most likely not actually on a soccer team.

I researched this company as I did my taxes this year, to determine if it really was tax-deductible. Instead of finding the website of an organization doing a fundraiser for the troops I (1) found no such website, or a website for the company AT ALL (2) discovered that MANY people have been scammed in the EXACT SAME WAY by salespeople of the company. So do not be fooled thinking that it is one stray salesperson representing a legitimate company. The company actually encourages such behavior, and the Better Business Bureau has tallied nearly 300 complaints of such behavior. When the BBB asked the company to bring the lying of their salespeople under control, the company decided to leave the BBB. So clearly, it is a company-wide problem, and certainly an issue with both the company and the salespeople.
