My mother passed away on the 06th of April 18, on the 18th of April we went to MIBFA to lodge a claim took in all the required paperwork , we where advise that we will receive an sms within 3 weeks , which was never received.

I called in on the 15th of May 18 was advised by a Nandipha Phendu but the paperwork received was not correct and we had to get my mothers employer to correct the dates and resubmit her paperwork which was done on the 16th May 18, i was then advised that my siblings and i had to complete Application for Death Benefits forms , with our ID copies and bank letters and deliver them to MIBFA offices in Johannesburg , i had to put in a days leave at work and travel from Midrand to JHB , once there i was advise that there was no need for the documents and that Nandipha informed us incorrect a wasted days leave and petrol money.

I was advised that they where still busy with calculations and would receive an sms within 3 weeks once again no sms.

I called MIBFA and spoke to a Thando who advised that the application was only received on the 28th of June almost 3 months after it was submitted and she advised me that the application would only be approved after 12 to 24 months.

Can somebody look into this and provide proper feedback , information as your call center is full of a bunch of incompetence people not one person seems to know what the proper procedure is, I can honestly say I have never dealt with such incompetence, insensitive clueless people.
