I purchased an Xbox FIFA 2017 bundle from Microsoft directly and have been given the run-around trying to get the keys for the games that were supposed to be included. It’s taken a week with no resolution and seemingly, a complete mistrust of my situation.
I have now reported this issue to both my bank and Consumer Affairs Victoria for resolution as it appears that Microsoft cannot receive either inserted images nor can attachments of images be received to verify my story. Yes, MICROSOFT customer service CANNOT RECEIVE ATTACHMENTS OF IMAGES. A technology company, people.
December 4
- Ordered Xbox FIFA 2017 & white controller from Microsoft store, Australia
December 7
- Received white controller
December 9
- Received Xbox in a plain white box – no FIFA imagery – containing Xbox console and white controller only
Called Microsoft (45 sec marketing info on 1800 267 285) and pressed 2 for orders. First time, call was hung up, second time, a loud piercing noise was heard. Called a third time and pressed 1. Was given a reference number (1365850431) and told that I would receive an email within 24-48 hours. No email was received.
December 13
- Called at AEST 7:12 to explain for a second time that no email was received. After considerable effort, CS operator finally admitted case was closed and couldn’t explain why
- Was told by operator that I would be called back within 2 hours, which took considerable effort to clarify (operator didn’t know the difference between within and after)
- At AEST 19:27, received a voicemail message from Judy J in Shanghai followed by an email with instructions on how to unpack the Xbox FIFA 2017 box.
- At AEST 19:25 I replied to Judy’s email and inserted images of the box I did receive
December 14
- At AEST 8:24 I called Judy’s number and left a message (+86 21-61884161)
- Called Judy in Shanghai at 10:43
- Called 1800 267 285 at 10:44 – was hung up on
- Called Judy in Shanghai at 10:45
- Called 1800 267 285 at 10:50. Supervisor Lawrence could not see inserted images of package I received so I hung up
- Called Judy in Shanghai at 7:39
- Re-sent email to Judy with ATTACHMENTS of the images of the box I received at 7:42

- Demanded immediate resolution or I would take this to my bank and Consumer Affairs Victoria. Was told that someone would get back to me about this situation.
