Midlands credit management been calling me every day none stop with different numbers and sometimes private then they also called relatives in the past.

I paid off an HSBC card years ago, back in 2008. About 2-3 years later Midland Credit Management began calling me and mailing me that I owe them $2, 623. They claimed that it was from HSBC but they changed the account number. I called HSBC and they verified that I paid off my original account before the interest that Midland is claiming must be added to the HSBC account they are collecting for. HSBC also related to that my account was paid in full and closed. Also, that they do not sell anything to Midland. How do I find the form to send Midland to make them prove that their claim is valid? They keep updating it with the credit companies and when I filed a complaint on credit karma, midland sent me a form telling me I had to prove it wasn't valid.

We have sent Mid-land Credit Management a letter of debt validation...over a month later we get a letter in the mail stating-

"The purpose of this letter is to request your assistance so that we may reach a quick resolution to your dispute.

As part of our investigation of your dispute, it would be helpful to have a copy of any documentation you may have that supports your dispute. In the interim, we have requested the three major consumer credit reporting agencies change the status of this account to "Disputed".

Please mail or fax canceled checks, paid letters, police reports, or any other documentation you may have to support your claim."

What? Yes, let me help you sue me. How would I go about in writting a rebuttal letter to this? Can they even do that. If they bought the debt shouldn't they have proper documentation? Please help.

babe, if they serve you, sue u in court, make sure you answer the complaint and show up in court. don't admit anything. they have to prove it's your debt. if u believe it passed SOL, state it in the answer.

Midland is trying to collect an account that is not mine and is over 7 years old. The account number is 8530022159 They cannot verify this account because it is an illegal attempt to collect a debt. They have not verified the account, but persevere in reporting false information on my credit report.

how did you ask them to verify the debt? By phone or by mail? It has to be by certified mail, so you have proof they received it. Also definitely dispute it with whatever credit bureau they are reporting it on. If it is disputed it will be investigated and they have to verify it is correct with them and if they can't it can be removed.
