payment delay
Dear Complaint Board,
After a struggle, I was eventually paid out for the sale of my Phutumanathi shares on 16 October, but now I am having to fight for my dividend of R9000 which was apparently suspended because of issues around my SA citizenship (I'm a naturalised SA citizen).
This year's dividends were paid out in early September, long before I sold my shares (due to pressure put on me to do so by Phutumanthi).
It is grossly unfair to withhold my dividend since I was (albeit after a fight) deemed eligible to be paid for the sold shares. So why am I not eligible for my dividend?
Phutumanathi agents have told me that the matter is in the hands of the Board. It is now over two and a half months since the sale of my shares, and there has been no communication regarding the payment of my dividend. Kindly assist in getting my just-due

Phutumanathi
I bought Phutumanathi shares when they were first offered to formerly disadvantaged race groups. I am a naturalised SA citizen but do not have access to my naturalisation certificate.
I have been receiving calls from Phutumanathi agents asking me to provide proof of naturalisation or sell my shares.
I was born in Pakistan; my father was born in and was a SA citizen; my mum was born in India and came to SA with me when I was a toddler; and lived with me in Heidelberg for three years so that we could both become SA citizens in terms of the law at the time. That was around the late 1950s. My family and I moved permanently to SA around 1965.
The Phutumanathi agent advised me to apply for an unabridged birth certificate as proof of naturalisation; I went several times to Home Affairs in Pretoria but due to the long queues left in frustration; I eventually went to the Cullinan Home Affairs as the queues there are shorter. An official said I would not qualify for an unabridged birth certificate. Nevertheless, he said I could try so I paid the money and am still waiting to hear from them.
Subsequently, I spoke to another agent at Phutumanathi who suggested that I should apply for a certificate of naturalisation, which I found out takes several months and even up to a year to obtain, and would also entail sitting at DHA for hours on end.
Out of sheer frustration in September I decided to just sell the shares. I received a contract note for my sale on 26 September 2023. But no payment has been made to date.
I sent an email to Phutumanathi with copies of my parents' documents on 9 October querying why payment of my sold shares had not been made.
Up to now, there has not even been acknowledgment of this email. Inquiries on What's App to Phutumanathi indicate that my payment is in abeyance because of my citizenship status. This does not make sense because I was forced to sell my shares on the basis that I could not keep them due to a lack of proof of my SA citizenship. Kindly assist.
