MyFax.com is a scammer

After reading all the complains above, I decided to cancel my subscription before the end of the trial.
I wrote them an email saying that I wanted to cancel. I gave all the details BUT they didn't accept it they insisted that in order to cancel I have to call (phone) them. What a bullshit! I refused calling them instead I logged into my account and tried to delete my credit card but to no avail. The credit card is there but you can't be delete. I tried to change to other credit card and gave a fake number but the system checked the card and refuse to accept. My last resort was I called my credit card company and reported I "lost" my card and they needed to block any transaction. Within 3 days I got new card with new numbers. Problem solved but in a hard way.

MYFAX.COM IS A RIPOFF!

*** WARNING! MYFAX IS DEFINITELY A SCAM! BLOCK YOUR CARD AND CALL YOUR BANK! ***

SEPT. 17, 2016 I SIGNED UP FOR THE "FREE 30 DAY TRIAL". I SENT 11 FAXES TO THE SAME NUMBER. ONLY 8 WENT THROUGH. *ALL 11 WERE TO COLONIAL LIFE (SOMEWHAT LIKE AFLAC) WHICH IS AN INTERNATIONAL CO. SO THE FAX # IS THROUGH A NETWORK.

OF THE 8 SUCCESSFUL FAXES, ONLY ONE WAS 11 PAGES INCLUDING COVER. THE OTHER 7 WERE BETWEEN 3 AND 4 PAGES *WITH COVER*.

OCT. 4, 2016 I WAS CHARGED $10. WHEN I CALLED, I WAS TOLD IT WAS BECAUSE I HAD SENT 180 PAGES! I SAID, "NO WAY! I JUST SENT INFO. TO COLONIAL LIFE FOR MY HUSBAND'S INJURY AND ONLY ONE FAX WAS 11 PAGES WITH COVER." (BECAUSE I RESENT THE DOCS THAT WERE NOT SUCCESSFUL IN THE 4 FAXES"

I THEN ASKED IF I WERE CHARGED FOR THE FAX ATTEMPTS THAT WERE UNSUCCESSFUL "BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY I SENT 180 PAGES" AND WAS TOLD NO.

***COMPLETE SCAM***

I ASKED FOR A REFUND BECAUSE I WAS CHARGED FRAUDULENTLY AND WAS MET WITH RUDE OPPOSITION. SO, I PRINTED OUT ALL OF THE COVERS, SCREEN SHOTS OF MY SENT BOX AND THEN TOLD THE RUDE REP TO PLEASE CX MY "FREE 30 DAY TRIAL".

I CALLED MY BANK AND TOLD THEM I HAVE ALL SUPPORTIVE DOCUMENTATION NECESSARY TO SHOW I WAS RIPPED OFF.

5/9/16 I am having a difficult time trying to cancel my free MyFax account after only one week and one test fax. Their website does not have a customer service chat as advertised. I tired to email them and explained I cannot call because I am deaf and they insist after 3 emails I must call. I am severely hearing impaired and cannot understand their fast talking customer rep and I live alone so I can't have a surrogate call for me. This is a scam outfit to get your credit card number. Every major online business from Amazon and PayPal on down has online account modification or cancellation methods. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID AND SIGN UP TO THIS COMPANY

I tried the trial membership for 1 month and sent My Fax a cancellation email after I discovered I didn't want to continue their services. Apparently they sent me an email saying I needed to call them to cancel or cancel via their online chat. I didn't receive this email. 1 year later I received an email from them saying the credit card they were using to charge my account each month was no longer valid. At this time I wasn't watching my credit card that closely and didn't notice I was being charged $10 every month. I called My Fax to make sure my membership was indeed cancelled and to request a refund for the years worth of charges for services I wasn't using. They rudely told me they can't issue a refund and the cancellation I submitted a year ago wasn't valid because I did it via email. They claim they responded to my cancellation email with an email saying I needed to call them in order to cancel and it was my fault I didn't receive this email not theirs. They refused to take any responsibility, appoligize or do anything to assist me in this situation when I clearly didn't want their services and tried to cancel. My Fax is not in business to support or help others. They are in business for money and will use deceptive means to get it.

mis-representation / fraud

Steve Adams sounds like an upstanding guy. He might want to look for another company. I have been a customer of MyFax for probably 3-4 years and was a very satisfied customer. However, the past 6 months I have been having multiple issues including unable to send faxes and receiving no notification that they were not sent, not being able to receive faxes even though the sender is receiving a confirmation of fax being sent successfully. I have called multiple times and received the message "we are experiencing higher than normal call volume at this time..." Really? Maybe other people are pissed they can't send or receive their faxes! After 6 months of receiving complaints from MY customers, I had to break down and switch companies. MyFax waited until they could bill me for one more billing cycle (on Friday) then cancelled my service on Monday. On Tuesday they drafted my bank account an additional $40! There is NOTHING in Terms & Conditions stating they can charge me any cancellation fee AND I have never authorized them to charge me that kind of fee. Seriously? I googled MyFax and found this page. Unfortunately, I'm not surprised. I have contacted my bank, but I am concerned I may have to close my account - especially after reading the other post.
