So, I decided to pay for my school with NELNET. I chose to take four classes and pay two payments. One at the beginning and one later in the semester. Well, when I tried to pay online through Nelnet, it wouldn't go through because I only had $980 instead of the full $1002. The payment was denied. So I go to my school, drop two classes, and pay in FULL to the school, which was $888. I wake up the next morning and my account is negative $1002. I don't even have overdraft at my bank. I look at the transactions and theres one that says FORCE PAY NELNET. Mind you this is after i've called the multiple times before the payment was made and told them ive already paid and to cancel my application. So now my power has been cut off and I have NO FOOD due to Nelnets actions. They said that there is nothing they can do because I hit the submit button. The thing is, when I clicked that submit button, the payment did not go through. The school and Nelnet are saying it will take 45 to 60 days to receive a refund. I don't want to wait that long. Do I have to wait that long? Can I sue Nelnet for this? I will be going to my local courthouse on Monday to find out.
