On 02//18/20 I looked up the nearest walk in clinic, because I was so weak, I didn't want to drive to far.
What is important to note, is that the public does not know the differences between one urgent care clinic from another, and that they are not similar in any way that they practice medicine.
I was told of a variety of payment plans, all of which were extremely exorbitant, starting at $190. range and up.
They were extraordinarily disconnected and unempathetic, It is an offence to the public at large that these people even pretend to be offering medical care.
In the over 2 hours that I was there, I saw their "so called medical professionals" for a total of 4 minutes. When I had told her I had been sick for weeks , and the symptoms had changed leaving me incapable of working, the individual who took my vitals told me they would not be able to diagnose me since I had been sick more than 2 days, how absurd!!! After reading her report, I saw just how inaccurate she was, as if she heard nothing I was telling her.
All she had to do was listen while I tried to explain, what I had been experiencing , but she didn't want to take the time to listen to me.
The next stages of the exam were so brief and insufficient, I could get NO answers to any of my questions about what I was experiencing.
Then I was told what medications were called in, She would have been more accurate if she had been blind folded and threw darts at a board, I think they just throw prescriptions at the patient , hoping they get lucky and treat even 1 of your symptoms.
They called the next day, I complained that the medication the prescribed for the horrendous cough I had, was giving me absolutely NO relief, therefore I couldn't stop coughing or get any rest.
They called in something else, that was equally as ineffective, I choose not to contact them again after paying $45. for prescriptions.
I proceeded to have to miss the rest of the week, because the medication was ineffective, I was too dizzy to stand up and I could not perform my job because of the medication I was prescribed. I am a school bus driver for the Peoria school district.
I had to go back to work the following week and needed to get my DOT Medical Exam done and went to the medical clinic the district uses.
Because part of the exam has a minimal hearing exam, I mentioned I still couldn't hear well because the medication I was on wasn't helping ,and mentioned my experience at nextcare, they were astounded at what I was charged and that I had no relief of my symptoms after a week. I was informed of the differences in these urgent care facilities, that some have packages that include
chest xrays for instance that would keep your fees at or around $200.
The public does not know these differences, most of us have never been so sick that we had to turn to one of these facilities, I would have been better served going to the hospital ER in order to be properly diagnosed and treated. Because I didn't know I missed a week of work unpaid and spent almost $600. only to still have many of the same symptoms and very little relief.
I am a fairly new driver, and my insurance benefits do not start till March 1st 2020 , however I had never been so sick to have to miss work, I am single and support myself.
When I was leaving the facility and was told my total price , I thought I would pass out, they had the nerve to justify my visit total to be $530., when I asked how they came to that total , they were quite indignant and justified in their charges.
I am still sick currently and have completed all my medication, this so called care clinic is a menace to society, it is exploitation at it's worst.
I have never felt so foolish to have been RIPPED off so grossly in my Entire Life!!
My hope is that you will take seriously this matter, when I think of how vulnerable we are, when we get so ill we have to miss work, unpaid, and then be subjected to this inferior care at the hands of medical professionals, and taken advantage of to this degree. I would have preferred to send you copies of the medical report from nextcare, however I was unable to scan them, I would be happy to mail them if you request.
